Title: How much did your breast grow with HRT?
Post by: itschristina on April 25, 2017, 12:14:27 PM
Hey! It's me again, asking stupid questions lol
So, I started HRT 12 days ago and it almost looks like my breast started growing. Not growing-growing but they are starting to "shape" into tiny little boobies, especially if looked from the side. The areola seems to be a bit darker, and the nipples a little more sensitive, but they don't hurt so I don't know if they're actually growing.
Anyways, how do you know they're growing? And how much did yours grow? I don't know how sizes work in the US, but I guess I am around an AA and I'm on the slim side... could I achieve a full A like 34A/32B? And I know YMMV but how long does it usually take?
I'm sorry for all the questions! But sometimes it's better to ask people who have experienced it rather than asking for random opinions.

Thank you! :)

I have no idea if I am typical or not but in 12 days I had no breast growth. I've read here of others saying their nipples were sore and tender but I experienced nothing like that, nipple sensation did begin in the first couple of weeks followed fairly quickly by nipple growth.

Patience Christina, Patience.

Many people will tell you that everyone is different and that results will vary.  I am by no means any kind of expert, but my experience was that within a few weeks of starting HRT I really only noticed increased sensations and painful nipples.  Growth for me started to be noticeable around 3 months, and that was internal growth where I could feel breast tissue.  Around where I am now, about 5 months, is externally visible breasts....which are shaped differently from my previous manboobs.

I would actually think that what you see is likely just your own perceptions.  After two weeks your testosterone hasn't reached its lowest levels and your estrogen hasn't reached high enough levels to actually have a biological effect on your body.

You'll hear it many more times, just be patient...it'll come.

Since everyone is different, I could not tell you what size to expect, or when you will get there. I can tell you that it took a long time to develop 36C breasts. If patience is not one of your virtues, you may be interested in breast augmentation surgery after you have been on HRT long enough to have an idea what to anticipate.

I've been transitioning for like three years, and my breasts grew very fast, starting on the first day of hrt. What I've noticed throughout the years is that itching tends to equate to breast growth, and obviously involuntary lactation does too.

However, one thing that a lot of people neglect to mention, in this regard, is body fat percentage!!! So long as your body is distributing fat onto your chest and butt, then higher fat content will generally help increase your breast size quite a bit. At the same time, low body fat percentage will make your breasts waaaay smaller.

So, for reference, I am a large 32A right now, which sounds hella tiny, but they're really not because that's solid mammary gland, and little fat, in my case. For reference, I'm around 135 lbs. and have a confirmed body fat percentage of 13% (I.e., very lean). However, when I was heavier (around 150 lbs., at 5 ft. 9), my breasts were full 32B's. Mind you---that was months ago, so it's evident that body fat percentage is often a more of a variable than is time on hrt, notably after several months of transitioning.

So, will you reach a full 32B? There's a chance, but depending on your age and how much body fat you will have, it will be more or less likely. Notice that breast development (like so many things) is fostered by human growth hormone production: something you have a lot more of at age 20 than 30. This is why younger transitioners see more optimal breast development, and why cis women (who hit puberty very early) experience even better breast growth!!!

After 4 years and two months back on HRT, I am 44B+ verging on 44C. My problem is my broad back.
