Title: Recipe: Vegan Chicken
Post by: Shay9999 on May 13, 2019, 04:51:31 AM
I saw the hobbies board and had to show you guys this awesome Vegan "chicken" recipe I worked on. I don't do exact measurements because I cook with my heart instead of my brain, but here's a rough idea of what you need.

Notes: Feel free to change up that spice ratio, or add whatever spices that compliment your dish. For a more Mexican flare, adding cilantro, lemon juice, chilli powder, and maybe cayenne would help. Also, you can get Vital Wheat Gluten at Whole Foods, or online via Amazon.

Vegan "Chicken"

Ingredients:
2 cups Vegetable Broth
¼ cup Vital Wheat Gluten
1 tsp Rosemary
1 tsp Thyme
½ tsp Salt
½ tsp Pepper
1 tsp Onion Powder
1 tsp Garlic Powder

Preheat oven to 400°F.

Mix the vital wheat gluten with the spices, and then slowly add vegetable broth to the mixture until you create a dough. Knead this for about 10 minutes. You don't need that much vegetable broth to get to the point you can knead it.

Place the kneaded dough in a casserole dish, and fill with the remaining vegetable broth and cover the dish with foil. Bake at 400°F for 45 minutes. Let cool out of liquid for 10 minutes before carving.
