Title: Open Letter To Reelmagik
Post by: Tyler90210 on September 02, 2014, 04:44:11 PM
I hope this is allowed.  I think it will be an asset to this community at large and Reelmagik.  I've heard that Reelmagik does check this and other message boards etc. for feedback. So the purpose of this "letter" is to ask Reelmagik if you could add one simple thing to your prosthetic line and allow other people here to add their thoughts about what I'm asking.

Hi Reelmagik,

First I want to say THANK YOU for making your prosthetics for the FTM community.   They are literally life changing!   I currently have 6" advanced model with the erection rod.  I've had it for a few years now and have to say it is beyond amazing!   It looks and feels EXACTLY like a bio penis.  It's something that I dreamed about having for years but was always very disappointed with what options were available in prosthetics.

I just heard about you making a STP device and am ecstatic.  I saw the pics of it and it looks awesome!  I defiantly want to get one.

I LOVE my prosthetic!  I've had it for years and it still looks and feels the same.  There's been no tears or color fading or anything.  The quality of it is first rate.

However I do have one problem with the prosthetic and it's kind of a big problem.  After having it for years there's been a big build up of glue on the back and to be honest it looks really gross.

Now I'm a VERY hygienic guy in real life.  At least one shower a day, little obsessive with hand washing, etc.. But even that didn't prevent this build up.

Now I know I was given a cleaner for the back of it with purchase but to be honest I didn't like the smell of the cleaner and only used it once in the beginning.  I tried to "clean" the back with the solvent for the glue I use but that didn't work.  I also tried regular washing with my body soap and scrubbing with my body soap but it didn't really work either.

And of course there were many times that I got lazy and would take it off and wash the front well in the shower but only wash the back to get it clean and not remove the glue.

So I know a lot of this is my own fault but I can't help but think that A LOT of other guys are in the same boat.

My solution is this; please offer a "tape kit" " tape back" plastic tape on the back like Lola Jake offers.  The tape kit is a piece of, if I remember correctly, shiny plastic that is attached to the back of the prosthetic with regular glue.  Then you use your prosthetic glue to glue the prosthetic to you.  Here's why you should --

1) It will completely eradicate this problem.  I had a Lola jake years ago and had the same problem with the glue build up.  BUT once it would build up to a certain point all I had to do was take a little solvent on a Popsicle stick and shove it under the glue.  It would loosen the edge a bit and I could easily peel all the gross glue off and was left with a pristine back.  It looked like new!

2) It will also really help with the prosthetic staying attached.  I personally haven't had any issues with keeping it attached and haven't really heard of many either but for some reason that tape kit would make such a tight seal it was crazy!

As of right now I REALLY want to but this STP the day it becomes available.  I'm so excited to be able to just walk up to any urinal, even a trough, and just whip it out and go!  I currently use a go-"guy" and it works for me.  But trying to use it under my prosthetic is a little tricky and I worry about someone seeing it when I take it out.  So I try to avoid urinals.

I would also like to be able to use this STP as my normal day to day prosthetic for walking around, the gym (and locker rooms), etc. and then switch easily to an erect model for sex but I would be embarrassed if a potential partner saw the backs of them and thought I was unclean.

I would also like to buy the new model 6" with 3D scrotum soon as well; but I'm honestly hesitant if I'm going to be stuck with a gross back again.

So please Reelmagik consider adding this option.  PLEASE.  I'm sure it wouldn't cost much to test different "tapes" etc.  Also, I don't have extra for the tape kit but I'm sure other guys do since LJ sells replacement tape kits.  If you want, maybe someone here could send it to you?  So you know exactly what I'm talking about.

Thank you for taking your time to read this.  I really hope you consider this addition.

And any other guys wanna add to this; please do!!

P.S.  I honestly can't post this with out also say to please consider at a later date adding the option of a three in one prosthetic that ejaculates!

It CAN be done bc the UP guy did it.  No one will buy from him because he can't run a business at all.  But he was able to get a prosthetic to ejaculate.  If he can do it, you can do it and SO MUCH BETTER.  I'll just link to the thread on here about it...

https://www.susans.org/forums/index.php/topic,163728.0.html

If you were able to come out with a three in one ejaculating prosthetic it would literally be life saving for some guys.  As it is right now, bottom surgery isn't an option for most guys but I truly believe if there was a prosthetic that you could pee from, have sex with, be hard and soft and ejaculate with it would eliminate the need for surgery with most guys.  Especially with the way your prosthetic look and feel.  It would be actual PERFECTION.

It can't be. I know I made some comment as to how you could put a rod in there and make it 3 way. (So if it happens you can blame me. LOL.)

Hi Guys

I asked reelmagic for qoute on the 6" prosthetic. Pack and play. Just received it and I nearly fall of my chair. I'm from South Africa and desperately looking for something very realistic. I like the look of reelmagic products. With everything, the hair and glue as well as shipping.
R10 000.00. $909 thats a lot of money. Is it worth it? I am really confused between all the products. Is there something similar a bit cheaper?Thats not all. Have to wait between 25 and 28 weeks for it. 7 Months!! Thats way too long. Is there any other way I could get it quicker? I will appreciate all comments regarding this matter.

It's definitely worth it...their products are amazing, just take a look at some of the reviews of their products on here. They have the most realistic products available, both in look and feel...worth the cost and the long wait. There are other products out there that some claim are really realistic, but honestly when you compare them side by side to the RM, there is no comparison. Best of luck with your decision.

Reelmagik are probably the most realistic as far as I've seen, but if you haven't packed before then I'd suggest getting something cheap first.  Not everyone finds that packing helps their dysphoria, and in a few cases they've found it makes it worse.  I'd hate for you to spend that much money and then find that it's not for you.  6 inches is a lot to pack as well, I'm struggling getting used to a 4 1/2 inch one after using a much smaller one for few years.

I'd like to add that the waiting time is a huge turn off for me. They really need to do something about that. Its really not good customer service.

I have to disagree with the idea that it isn't good customer service, per se.  For whatever reason, they don't want to hire other people to do the work.  Most likely that is because the learning curve for working with this material is huge.  They want their products perfect and they need skilled artisans for that.  They don't want a mass produced product.  I don't see anything wrong with this.

The choice is either a good quality product that you wait a while for, or a poor quality product that you don't.

The longer you don't buy and complain about the wait, the longer you'll be waiting for it.

I don't think it's a "customer service" issue. It's VERY slow to get it, but you are told right up front about how long it takes so you understand what the conditions are. IF they told you a month and it was 3, then that's bad customer service, but if they tell you six and you get it in six, then that's getting exactly what you expect. If that's too much you go somewhere else.

They hand make these and while others can do it faster I think for a tiny little "company" (probably only a couple who work with silicone they do a lot of work.

There shouldn't have to be a compromise, we are in 2014, anything is possible. I believe they just don't see it as a priority.
And I see it as a customer service issue because if you run a restaurant to keep people happy you either keep their wait time down or give them something to keep them busy or comfortable. For example some restaurants have really comfortable seats, music, games, tv. That keeps customers from getting angry and also distracts them from time. RM is a big company, especially thanks to us. They need to step up to the plate in other aspects besides quality of their products. Because even when I had the money for a prosthetic and was going to buy one 6 months is way too long to wait for it. I would rather take my business somewhere else where the quality might not be as great but they deliver way sooner. For all we know, we won't be alive tomorrow, let alone six months away.

When you go to a restaurant, if you are told upfront it will be 3 hours, it's not bad customer service. If you are told it'll be a half hour and it ends up being 3 hours then it's terrible service.
Since you know up front what you are getting, you can decide if it's worth it to you or not.

Most people have a reasonable expectation of being alive 6 months from now, you could get hit by a bus tomorrow.

If you get hit by a bus tomorrow no prosthetic is going to have made it to you in time.  I can't see why you'd settle for second best, especially with something this expensive, just because you're impatient.

I have to agree with Jay on this.  You know about the wait, it's no surprise, and therefore it's not bad customer service.  Complain about the wait times all you like, but don't blame poor customer service for it.  Wait times in a restaurant vary, and if they vary massively then that's poor management and customer service, with RM they're pretty consistent and always open about it.
