Title: Questions about non laser/electrolysis hair removal
Post by: Amaki on July 14, 2018, 09:20:54 PM
So I was talking with Eryn T and we started to talk about hair removal, and I've heard of like Nair for use of hair removal but does anyone know of anything that works. I mean its a way cheaper option so I dont know how well they will work but anyone know if they 'work' lol.

As Ive said before Im kind of hairy I know HRT will lighten if not remove some of the hair and with me on a extreme budget the cheaper option might help.

Nair would work on finer hair but I am not sure how it would work on heavy hair. It's a strong alkaline so it dissolves the hair at and a little below the surface. Some people have sensitive skin and will develop a rash or a burn when they use it so be careful to follow the instructions carefully. If you really want to remove the hair, you only have two options and one if you can't be treated with laser.

Hair removal creams, such as Nair, only dissolve the hair below the surface of the skin. The hair follicle is not affected and  will grow back. Using a hair removal creams are slightly better than shaving. Waxing remove the entire hair, roots and all, but it will grow back because the hair follicle is not destroyed. For temporary hair removal, creams and waxing are very effective.

For permanent results, you need any or all of laser, electrolysis or HRT.

Waxing is good because it will eventually make the hair finer.

ok so it might be more efficient but its not a permanent option ok I'll have to keep my eye out.

Oh so a while back I bought one of those NONO hand held laser hair remover I was told they work best on thin hair, will that help on top but like nair?

Oh before I forget for anyone who is going through the VA, apparently they will prescribe cream that helps slow the growth of hair, but you'd have to being it up with your PC. Heard it in my class not too sure yet but yeah just wanted to pass it along before I forgot

I have a home IPL laser removal device...it works pretty well and does permanently remove some hair. I Used it for about 4 months and then I let the hair grown back under my arms to see what was killed and over 50% of it was gone. So I have started another regular course. It only works on dark hair. Have you tried an epilator for body hair?...it is the kind of thing you might want try a week after shaving depending on how hairy you are. With epilators the more you use them the more efficient they seem to be at keeping the hair down. Hoipe that is of some help

Take care
