Title: What "Manly" Thing Did You Do Today? Come Tell Us About It!
Post by: Ryuichi13 on March 20, 2019, 11:35:36 PM
This is where us men, demiboys, transman, transguys and anyone else on the male end of the spectrum can come and "beat our chests" about something you did that is traditionally considered "masculine."

I did something manly today and even though its not much, I want to crow about it.  ;)

The plastic closet pole socket that supports the wooden dowel I hang my clothes on in my closet broke and caused my clothes to fall down, so today I got a heavy duty chrome closet pole socket set and screwed it in.

Once I did, I realized that the wooden dowel had been cut about a inch or two too short, so I took some duct tape, wrapped it, made a thick pad and put it in the closed socket.  I made sure that it was enough padding to ensure that it wouldn't fall down and then put my suits and button-down shirts and cosplays back on the pole.  It actually gave me a chance to hang up my clothes in a more logical order.

The heavy duty pole socket looks like this:

When I finished, I felt pretty manly!

So, what did you do today that you could consider to be "manly," "masculine" etc?  Tell us about it, I'm sure I'm not the only one that wants to know!  ;D

Changed broken light fixture in the bathroom, having to do it without much light and with the mains disconnected due to the wiring hanging out all over the place. Not an electrician but it's fairly straightforward stuff. Whoever designed the electrics in this place was a moron though. ALL the fixtures have problems and the bulbs blow more often in this flat than in any I've ever lived in. If I could I'd rip it all out and start over.

I adjusted my bike saddle, pumped up my tires, and carried my bike up/down the stairs.

Nothing like a :icon_chainsaw: from back in the day.

Replaced the bearing and drive belt on my clothes dryer. It was an adventure.

Sanding a batch of wooden bases for painting and varnishing. Very boring but necessary work.

Carried the groceries from the car.  Had to put them away too (so my wife can rearrange it all later [emoji1787]).  But at least I don't have to go to the grocery store so I'm not complaining.  Best thing about it was feeling the difference in my chest, arm, and shoulder muscles since my top surgery.  [emoji41][emoji123]

I carried around the carrier holding Shima, our 18.5 pound cat when we took her to the vet today.  It was quite a workout!  I think she stress eats due to Pichu, our newest cat.  I don't think she's supposed to look like a silver tabby-colored watermelon with legs!

We did manage to get her to no longer be a 20 pound cat, so that's good.  Now she's going to be on a vet-approved eating plan as well as more playtime than before.

Man i've done nothing today lol.

But I AM gonna build another Ikea shelf if my mother and step dad remember to pick it up on their Ikea trip tomorrow.

Husband thinks i'm a wierdo because I actually really LIKE constructing flatpack. It's like a giant puzzle.

I've built all the bookshelves in this house but to be fair, it's not like Ikea bookshelves are difficult to put up. I don't know how to do built in shelves, nobody ever taught me. Boo.

But then again, nobody ever taught cis husband either so I don't feel like that much of a manly failure.

Of course i then undermined the whole building of shelves masculinity thing by filling them with dolls... so.... swings and roundabouts? lol.

Organized my diving kit for the spring, I've modified a small sling backpack for diving with so that it will be able to carry enough items that I can stay out at sea all day probably. Soon will be warm enough to hit the sea again. I need to buy a new wetsuit as well, the old one is wearing out. Got some new spear tips for the IST. Scouted out some fresh areas along the coast I've not explored yet.

Now you have me going! This weekend is car and boat maintenance ready for the season ( Autumn & Winter in Darwin.)
Now I have to get my dive gear out ready. Spears and guns need rubbers. Need a new stinger suit.

Im going to go out soft core like a big girl ! My sons are going to drive the boat like they normally do & I will slip over the side directly on to the hunting ground. Don't call me a weak poofter or I will cry ( lol )

Lifted up my neighbors little kid so she could sit on a tree branch. She calls me Mr mustachio. Honestly she makes me feel more valid about my gender than any human being lol

The spare PS4 controller seemed like it was stuck in the forward position, decided to take it apart and see if it can be fixed. The breathing light no longer works but if the d-stick works that's good enough for me. At nearly 50 quid a pop, not exactly peanuts to replace.

I'm not masculine or manly but a manly thing I did was watch the three stooges with my brother. My dad told me females don't like or watch the stooges. Oh well, too bad. I like the stooges. Lol

I had to chop up a good few kgs of meat today.

Nobody else likes doing it or handing raw flesh around here so I guess I gotta do it.

hahah I can't chop meat unfortunately, not because I can't handle raw flesh (i'm AOK with this and find going the butcher makes me super hungry) but because I have super sensitive hands to cold and it causes me physical pain that radiates up into my elbows and makes me whimper.

super non manly that.

Nopw what'd I do that was manly? Hmm.. well I dragged heavy boxes down from my mother's attic, but I also had to go full on "queer eye" for her and give my feedback on her new dresses/jackets/skirts lol. So uh... I think it evened out hahah.
