I don't even know anymore! :'( :'(
for like the last 10 years or so now my favorite food has been BBQ, specifically brisket and ribs, but lately I just can't do ribs anymore, they're too heavy and I feel gross after eating them. I actually went to a Virgil's bbq a couple weeks ago and took most of the ribs from the combo meal home and I ended up throwing them out! I went to Dinosaur BBQ in Syracuse today and for the first time ever I didn't get ribs there, and theirs are my favorite! I got the brisket today and while it was really good I still had a hard time eating it! I ended up taking half of my meal home with me and I'm definitely not the leftovers type lol. For BBQ though I can still do pulled pork as long as it's not drowning in sauce, and I can still handle wings just fine :)
I do still love pizza but my tastes have changed on that too. In my area we have plenty of good NY style pizzas, but I don't like them as much as I used to, I crave a sweeter pizza now. We have a style here called "sheet pizza", it's made in rectangles and the dough is thicker and not really too crisp and sometimes it's on the sweet side, and then a lot of these places mix a little american cheese in with the mozarella. I know that's going to sound gross to a lot of you but if you grew up here you'd probably love it lol
I love Chinese food, pizza, chicken wings, spaghetti, subs, chicken breast,
Tomahawk steak, thin base pizza, avocado mixed with vegimite,

My favorite sandwich meat is Pastrami. My mom was really into it and I guess I have some of her tastes.
Bacon of course is a fav.
The other day I began experimenting with foods using the crock pot. I took a couple packs of Mushroom gravy, mushroom soup and crocked some steak. Finished the last of it earlier today - the juice was delightful.

@ Cassie: I like pastrami too... that was a big deal in the L.A. area and in New England when I lived in those places.... a little greasy unless you get the good stuff.
Subway sandwiches are just fine... I get lots of veggies on mine with either the cold-cuts or maybe turkey instead and then have it toasted. Also since I lived in Connecticut for a few years (they called sub sandwiches "Grinders") the restaurants would just about throw you out of their place if you asked for mayo and/or mustard on the sandwich... their standard was oil and vinegar... which, to this day I always ask for that... I like that.. you should try it some day if you have not already... even though I LOVE Mayo on a lot of my other sandwiches and foods that I prepare ..... on Sub Sandwiches I always get the Oil and Vinegar.

I was raised in North Long Beach. Late wife had been born and raised in Lakewood so after marrying her, moved there and raised her daughter with her. When she passed in 09' I had to get legal guardianship and continued raising our daughter and now she's raising me, lol.

@ Chrissy: Yes, so much good food mentioned on this thread... of course not all of us like the same things, and that is good... it would be a boring world if all of us liked and disliked the same things.
I happen to like Mayo and Miracle Whip both... makes good salad dressings, essential for many sandwiches and great for making Tartar Sauce and French Fry Sauce. ... also for mixing with canned tuna or chicken to make tuna or chicken salad sandwiches and salads. Miracle Whip is a nice lower fat and lower calorie substitute.
Oh yeah, Cool Whip topping OK but I would rather make my own with Whipping Cream and a little sugar and a tiny amount of vanilla..... mmm, mmm, good.

The nice thing about dark chocolate is that since it's high in fat and low in sugar it curbs the appetite and doesn't leave you craving more and more and more.
If I eat regular milk chocolate I'll start with the best intentions to eat just one. Then when five or six empty wrappers are sitting in front of me I put the sad face on.[emoji30]

I've become fond of pecan mug bread. I toast the pecans and then grind them to flour/meal. Very low carb and tasty. Toasting nuts really brings out the flavor.

I do not know how they make or serve them in those countries.
Just go to the grocery, frozen food section and look for stuffed peppers or cabbage rolls.
There is beef and rice in the stuffing, and a tomato based sauce. Tasty.

My Irish grandmother used to make these. My grandfather was Polish. We always called them Golumpki (Golabki) although as kids we dropped the "L" when we said the name. I haven't had these in decades! Brings back fond memories!

I thought you make them from scratch, as my mother always did at home. I have not have had a stuffed cabbage roll since my wife left me (she learned it from my mother how to do them).
I make my own stuffed peppers from scratch, but have never tried to make the cabbage rolls.

I know that the Polish version is basically the same as the German version. We should meet and do a cabbage roll festival!
Kind like "all the cabbage rolls you can eat"
Spaghetti
Fish any kind except the sushi. Ick!
Stuffed peppers
Corn beef and cabbage
Chicken and rice
Cubed steak and fries with corn on the cob
Roasted chicken
Flank steak and bell peppers sandwiches.
Reuben sandwich once in a while. They are bad for you in every way!
Anything Chinese.

Linde,
If you can make stuffed peppers, just put that meat stuffing into softened and flexible cabbage leaves.
To prepare the cabbage for wrapping, cut out the core of the cabbage and heat up the rest of the head of cabbage in hot water for about ten minutes. Cabbage leaves can then be stuffed, and you might be able to make two rolls from a large cabbage leaf. You may prefer to cut out the large vein in the leaf. Or leave it in.
Cook the stuffed cabbage rolls in the same tomatoey sauce as you cook your stuffed peppers.

I prefer most wild caught fish, so I usually bypass farm raised fish if I am aware of the origin.

I don't tauch farm raised fish with a ten foot pole when I buy it myself! But you never know what you get in a restaurant. That's why I eat mostly halibut or cod in a restaurant. Because to my knowledge, they don't farm raise those!
Big, fluffy, soft, fresh right out of the oven dinner rolls.
If anyone would provide a recipe, that would be appreciated! :)

They can taste good with apple butter on them.
Have not had one in five months as they are not on my diet.
But I would like one. Make it a big one that pulls apart in three sections perhaps!

I use the Parker House recipe from Joy of Cooking however this one (https://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/bobby-flay/parker-house-rolls-recipe2-1916763) is similar though I think the sugar might be a bit much. Also it doesn't use any water replacing the water with milk.

Good apple butter.

Really good strawberry jam, spread over warm toast.

I was invited for dinner at friends tonight, and they had a first for me. A rather thick cut of pork chop, split open lengthwise and stuffed with ginger.
This was really tasty!
Here I though being originally from Germany, I had seen any- and everything one can do with a pork chop!

The real thing has to be made of veal, and I don't like to eat little cute calfs!
Pears. After they get a little bit soft.
I was at a restaurant last night, and had stuffed flounder (did I ever mention that I like to eat fish?) with a side of out of this world home made potato chips! They were even better than the fish!
I had some trout today and it was delicious.
I look forward to some more!
Chrissy
Had different French cheeses and a nice Baguette and a glass of pinot noir along with it!
It was delicious!

No, I skipped the catfish for tonight, because neighbors cats wanted it. What better can there be, catfish for the cats! >:-)

Many types of Cookies and of course, good brownies!

I love catfish. Kind of greasy, but good taste, imo. Blackening improves it yet further.

I am a very texture oriented eater. I don' like the mushiness of catfish, no matter how you prepare it. I also don't care for mashed potatoes, because of a similar texture, no matter how you prepare them!
Good egg rolls.
Yes, there are some bad tasting egg rolls, at least to me there are some.
I do not make egg rolls, I simply buy them.
I think I like the most of the ones with pork in them, and the bigger ones.
I am not generally a fan of spring rolls.

Hurrah! Our tastes and preferences for egg rolls match 100% (and I am glad that they don't have some kinds filled with catfish)!
