So the referral my endo sent came back quicker than I expected and I have a consult scheduled for Monday! Super exciting!

YAY !!!! It's definitely worth it. My opinion - the benefits are moderate but definitely noticeable. It is worth doing.
The discomfort is only about a week or so. I am confident you will be glad you did it.

Had my post op today. I am still spotting a little blood, but he worked pretty radical on me and took most of my scrotum away. he said that i look great, and that i can stop taking Finasteride now. He wants to see me back in a year.
The benefit I see are, no more spiro, no more Finasteride, and I can wear any tight fitting female clothing I can pull up on my legs! No tucking required! One does not have to hide anything that is not there!
And yes, discomfort and pain is extremely minimal!
That's probably my number one reason, no tucking! I haven't had too much difficulty, but it will just be easier.
And I have a date! April 10, two weeks from Wednesday! Super awesome. Oddly enough for my area, I keep finding informed consent docs
So glad you have a date. YAY !! Linde and I disagree a little on the pain level. I was hurting for about a week but on a scale of 1 to 10 I would say it was a 4. Of course YMMV.
Make sure you consider the scrotum if you are considering vaginoplasty. I kept mine intact and Linde didn't.
Just in case I have vaginoplasty. I hardly notice it and it is small - like you just went swimming. :D

I got my second letter for the Orchi (insurance company needs two letters). So I'm getting set. They told me once I get the other letter it should go quick to get into surgery scheduled.

Everybody has a different pain threshold, and mine seems to be pretty high (no problem with electrolysis on the lip area, and no numbing agent applied).
I plan to have a minimum depth SRS and don't need all that extra skin for it. Again, everybody has to find their own solution.

Yeah, that's what my orchi was like back in 2001 - 2 inguinal incisions, and out they came. The scrotum was left alone, and it turned out to be a good thing, since the tissue was put to major use for my vaginoplasty (I was microcephallic, and as a result, very little penile tissue was available for use in my SRS - but as both the urologist and who did my orchi, and Suporn said, I had a ridiculously oversized scrotum with tons of tissue).
It was also nice to not have to worry about tucking, or spending money on on Spiranolactone. Also, it seemed to me like I experienced a significant growth spurt with regards to my breasts after my orchi.
I'm surprised that scheduling your Orchi was so quick and straightforward Aiofe. The urologist who did mine, had me see a psychiatrist first (the same guy that also did the psychiatrist letters for SRS, in the [non-university based] gender program I went through). The guy talked to me for a half hour, said I had my act together, signed off on my orchi, and charged me $150 (ouch!).
I was a little tender from my orchi, but since I had it done before the weekend of the Fourth of July 2001, I was able to take it easy for a few days (off of work), and healed up very well.
I'm honestly surprised too, especially since I live in a rather conservative area. Not gonna complain tho
Congrats! I just had my orchiectomy done in January. Everything went well with no complications. I went with inguinal incisions to prevent loss of tissue due to scarring in the scrotal area. I had about two weeks of pain, mostly when sitting up. Pain was comparable to getting hit in the groin when the evil twins were still around.

I've read that before and what I found is that AAs can inhibit the usage of E for development.
