Title: Transgender American Lady Trying to Learn Farsi and Arabic
Post by: Post-Operative Lady on June 13, 2018, 05:29:56 pm
Salaam,

I've been trying to learn Farsi for a number of years on my own. In the books I've read, you're told that a basic knowledge of Arabic is useful. I'm learning very basic Arabic, now.
Is anyone willing to help me learn more Arabic or even Farsi; if you know some? Maybe we can Skype up some time.
I know that in some Middle Eastern communities, transgender and homosexuality can be touchy issues. That's one reason I've never consulted online tutors. Perhaps, another transgender person who's knowledgeable can help. :angel:

Just out of curiosity, what's your interest in learning Arabic and/or Farsi? Thinking of a career in the military?  :)

I'd recommend picking up the complete Rosetta Stone set for Arabic and/or Farsi. Rosetta Stone is probably the best foreign language instruction available short of a native tutor.

@Outlaw Jenny
Dear Outlaw Jenny:

Please if you have the time try to stop by the Introductions Forum (https://www.susans.org/forums/index.php/board,8.0.html) to tell more members a little about yourself!
The more that you share about yourself and let other members know about your arrival will allow you more give and take with other like-minded members here.   You may even find that you will make some new friends here on the forums.

Wishing you well as you get more involved in the forums and meet more members here.
