Title: Coming Out
Post by: Yukina on September 17, 2020, 08:59:37 pm
So I've been taking steps to come out to certain people offline (online was a breeze with the LGBTQ+ friendly boards I'm on). I was a bit worried when I came out to to my mother today (certain phrases she says at times worry me), but it turned out to be surprisingly fine. She seemed to accept it decently well and I mostly just established what had been going on from there.

@Yukina
While sometimes there are bad events and bad reactions from others when we finally make the decision to publically come out.....  in my own experience, except for my parents, my father especially, and for just a few of my extended family members, my coming out went smoother than I was expecting.   I feared the worst but I was surprised and pleased with the positive acceptance that I did experience.

I am glad that you have taken the coming out steps that you have.
Please keep the updates coming.

Thank you for sharing and posting.
HUGS,
Danielle

Yukina, I found coming out was accepted much better when I explained that this is not a choice, but a result of brain development before we were born. If people think you are choosing to transition, you are made responsible for all the feelings people have because of it.

Hugs,

Allie

That's great.  With each positive coming out experience, it gets a little easier each time!  I hope it continues to go well for you!

Now I'm out to most people in my personal circle besides my dad. :)
