Wow.  Interesting choice of a username.

I have a whole lot of thoughts on it, but I cant seem to get them in order.  Can I ask why you chose it?

Well, it's my username on LiveJournal, DreamWidth, and one or two other journal/networking sites (without the hyphen--just "shemale").

It's also a word that I'm using in the reclaiming sense, and, at this point, it's a part of my identity--while I do identify as a trans woman, I also identify as a third-sex, transsexual-bodied shemale.

OK.

My name is also a name that i have used in other places, such as online gaming.  It is an intentional mis-spelling of the word fever, which is kind of how I feel when the desire to be female is overwhelming.

So, I suppose we have something in common, our names just aren't random names.

Awww :(

I know how tough body dysphoria and interacting with people who misgender you can be, but it gets easier--especially if you're able to do what it takes (whatever that is; it's different for everyone)  to make yourself feel comfortable with the way you look (or whatever it is that's bothering you), and to disregard the opinions of other people who think that they're entitled to tell you what your gender/body/sex is like they know better than you.

I wish you luck :)

(Especially Forum Admin! The thought of 10,000+ posts makes my head spin.)

Thank you for letting us know what it takes to put up a picture, but once we reach our 15 posts is there a size limit for a picture

Thank you for letting us know what it takes to put up a picture, but once we reach our 15 posts is there a size limit for a picture

The guidance for avatar size is about 200x200 pixels, as I recall.  It is found in the "Announcements" forum, as a "sticky" (permanent post).

https://www.susans.org/forums/index.php/topic,59974.0.html (https://www.susans.org/forums/index.php/topic,59974.0.html)

I'll ask and correct this as necessary.  Mine is probably a little bit too large, but it was designed for me by another artistic moderator. - so I'm never changing it.

Limits? We don't need no steenking limits! Mine is as big as a street sign. Hugs, Devlyn

But it is a very tasteful, petite street sign.  "Practically perfect in every way."

Go to Profile/Modify Profile/ Forum Profile and you can set it there.

up near the top of your page on here, there should be a row of choices, the fourth one will be profile, put your cursor over it and it should expand and choose forum profile. Once you get there, you will have the option of adding a pic of your own or using one from the gallery. There are also other changes you can make that adds stuff to your profile. Most all of them can be done after you reach 15 posts. Once you make the changes, then you go to the bottom of the forum profile page and there will be a place to save changes.

You need to have 15 forum posts before you can upload a profile photo

Avatars have to wait for 15 quality post. In post images are hosted on a photo server like Photo bucket and you link to them with something like the following.

Ahhh, this is complicated. I just joined in today and I'm a bit lost... well, a lot! I want to put a picture of me, modify my profile to display some more details about me, link my YouTube channel, etc... I guess I'll browse the forums and leave some (quality?) comments if that's what it takes. I would also like to chat a bit sometimes, do I use my member name and password or do I create new ones, what are buddies, help! I'll manage eventualy I know but for now it's gonna be a case of trial and error, best way to learn they say. Cheers, Rose.

How long must one wait after joining, before being permitted to upload one?
Title: Re: Putting up a picture in your profile

The greeting links contain the answer. Most of the features unlock after 15 quality posts. If we see you are attempting to run up the numbers, we will take action to prevent it. We do this so we get to know you a bit before you receive the key to the kingdom. The limited number of features that are not unlocked, unlock at 50 posts. Your avatar can be posted at 15 posts but off site linked pictures can be made as long as you own the material.

Caution NCmuse there are penalties on post padding to make that number. Your 13 more posts need to be "quality" posts.

btw Hi NCmuse

I'm Laurie. I see that you are new here. So please let me say, Welcome To Susan's Place! Come on in and take a good look around.  Perhaps I can even get you to hop on over to the Introductions (https://www.susans.org/forums/index.php/board,8.0.html) Thread and  create a post to tell us a little bit more about yourself so we can get to know you a little better and greet you properly.

Also I'll add some links and information below that can help you get more out of our site. Please take time to become familiar with them especially the RED one as we are always getting questions that are answered there.

You shouldn't. You have plenty of company of those that ask questions that are answered in the new member links that are provided. It happens all the time.  Please ask when you have questions and cannot find an answer elsewhere.

Hugs,
