I was looking around youtube for help with developing a female voice and i noticed a few videos by this place called Yeson Voice Center, it is located in South Korea. i was wondering if anyone else had heard about them? i listen to the ppl in the videos and it seems like it works great.
has anyone had surgery with them?
The girl in this video started with a very low voice.

I heard of it!
But I doubt I'd ever let anyone other than James P. Thomas touch my vocal folds.

You can go to Media -> Cases results and heard many of the results, although they are low quality record.

Edit: Personally I am not sure why people are so much against voice surgery, well there is CTA which I won't recommend, but the surgery which actually shortens (cuts) the vocal folds to be shorter seems like a good option.

The only risks I heard people mention are over-cutting, leaving with abnormally high pitch - though this is not much of a risk if you go to an experienced doctor and don't cut too much, I think some doctors today have a lot of experience with that as some been practicing for years now. (That's why I say I would only go to James Thomas, he is the only one that I know that has good experience with that)

And the second problem is resonance mis-match, but there is thyroid elevation to change resonance and you can also discuss making the pharynx smaller in circular size but make an incision and pulling away extra tissue, making it smaller. - I actually asked an E.N.T and surgeon about it and he suggested this specific technique and said it should work.

Vocal surgery is the riskiest op a mtf can have. The results are VERY mixed (leaning far more often towards poor results), with some being unable to hardly speak at all. Also, even with surgery, you still have to train your voice, it doesn't fix it all by itself.

A good bit of explanation is found here. http://www.tsroadmap.com/physical/voice/voicesurg.html

Again, mostly talked about CTA which as they say, doesn't change much.

Those who went to vocal fold shortening and replied there usually went when it was in its fancy or depending on the doctor who might cut and tight too much.

And as for resonance, it is outdated as there are now techniques to affect that too.

This is why I said there is only one doctor I think that is worth taking the chance with.

Yes, I have had surgery with them and I would totally recommend it to anyone who's looking to have Voice Fem. Surgery. Dr. Kim who performed the surgery is using his own technique that can only be available at Yeson Voice Center. Also, there is no incision on the neck as the surgery is performed endoscopic through the mouth. I wish someone who had it done with Yeson would share their experience on the net, but I can only judge from the video on youtube. After a year of thinking through, I feel like I really need this surgery to become complete with my transition. I'm more happy with my voice surgery than my SRS (don't get me wrong, I love my SRS)...probably because I can feel more secure now talking to people w/o having to worry about getting clock. I just wanted to share my experience, as I am sure that there's plenty of people, like myself, looking for the right resources to boost up their confidence/self-esteem.
