Surgery and man sculpture went well Tuesday, now the healing continues.  Everybody who said the lipo was the most painful, that was an understatement!!!  Each day gets better but first movement of the day after sleeping has to be the worst pain I experience.  Really hard not using hands and arms too. So used to doing everything and being independent that it really is a challenge physically and mentally.

Dr. Garramone, his staff and folks at same day surgery center are the best.  I had a great experience and can't wait for my post op Monday. 

So far the lipo areas feel weird, tight and swollen and my left side is pretty well bruised. Right side not nearly as much. Hope the discomfort goes away soon. The pain mixed with limited arm movement is really crazy. Above all I hate not being able to get dressed alone. I hope at post op I am told I can at least do that alone. Was told to have help pulling up compression shorts. This factor alone could make me delay going back to work.

Thanks to everybody who helped me with advice, I felt much better prepared going into the surgery.

Gratz, glad that everything went well.

I know, lipo is the worst; I had lipo done on my chest (peri) and it hurt like hell.  It took months for sensation to return to almost normal on one side.  It's still a little off at 1yr 8mos, but much, much better compared to a year ago.

Something I was wondering about the lower body liposuction: how has the sensation been affected?  Does your skin have numb patches or hypersensitivity?

My left side feels a little different then right or maybe I just think it does because visually it looks much worse. My left thigh I noticed some numbness especially if I have been walking a while. Both sides have some hypersensitivity in ab area but it's not too bad.

At this point I am glad I had to work my abs over the years, I can't imagine not having to deal with sit-ups and push ups then doing this. I am not super muscleur but I did have decent conditioning under the fat.

I will have to ask Dr. G if I had any weird conversations because after the nurse gave me the blue net hat for surgery she called it my party hat. I don't remember much after that except talking about the party and inviting everybody. I wish I could remember more of that conversation because what I do remember was pretty funny and not typical for me.

Ah, OK.  Glad it's not too bad.  I almost wonder if I had some nerve damage beyond what is usual on my chest's right side (it was the bigger side).  I had lipo on the left side, too, but I didn't have nerve issues like on the right side.  It hurt at first, but there was no long, lingering numbness or hypersensitivity.

Happy healing.  I wish I had funny stories of coming out of anesthesia, but it just doesn't have that effect on me.  All I get is nausea for two days afterwards >.<

I am so thankful i did not get sick. I have not had much of an appitite since surgery, but that could also be because I have to eat at least 4x a day for meds.  I didn't really need a laxative either. So I guess I have been very lucky in after affects others have experienced.

I plan on going to Dr. Garramone as well. From what I hear, he sounds like the best. Do you mind if I ask how much the mansculpture was?

Hey Jigsaw, glad to hear it went so well!

Haha yep, the lipo definitely is an odd sensation. I still have some numb areas and over sensitive areas, I think it's been 2 months now. You should get the hang of self-dressing soon - as you figure out resourceful techniques for it while avoiding any movements you aren't supposed to. Though I never had the shorts, sounds like a pain!

How you finding the rest of your stay?
