This weekend, for fathers day, we went to my (very in denial) dad's house. Per usual he spent the day calling me things like "she" and "mommy" (to my son obv. lol). I just ignored him, refering to myself as papa and he. Nothing was said, just keeping the peace for him on his day and whatnot.
No big deal, just light general animosity toward the subject. Typical.
heres where it gets good. My dad and I were alone in the kitchen and trying to get my son to eat-he was being picky. So my dad sits down with him, and says, "Oh, we'll get him to eat, he just wants to eat with the big boyss...ss *glowers at self*"
I didnt say anything, didn't even smile-though I was beaming inside-But its AWESOME to know that even the king of ignorance cant ignore this in me. It really gives me hope that he'll come around one day and stop denying whats so plainly obvious, that I need this, and that its not a choice for me not to transition and be who I am.

just wanted to share :) small steps.

I'm the sort of smart...aleck, who would have probably told him something along the lines of "Don't fight it" when he reacted to what he had said.

And no problem, lately I can more than understand just how huge small steps can be.
