Hi all! I hope everyone is wonderful! I've not been very active lately since becoming a member (which I'm sure isn't a big loss to anyone! :D)

I wanted to share some artwork with you all! The first one means a lot to me, personally because it's directly influenced by my state of mind in relation to being transgendered! I "publicly" title it Alchemy of Spirit but I really think Alchemy of Sex is more suited to what intention I had in mind. Although, it is related to the concept of spiritual enlightenment as well! probably just confusing and unnecessary, I'm sorry! My ideas make sense in my brain! haha! :)

I hope you all like it! It is colored pencil and graphite, on 14x11 bristol board.

The next drawing is less oriented towards transsexuality and more toward DNA! :) In my college Biology class we had to draw and label DNA, and in my research I became and inspired and drew this DNA goddess figure, which I'm quite fond of! :D I think it came out rather well! problems here and there but I'm working on not stressing over minor things!

It is colored pencil on 14x11 bristol board!

Thanks for looking everyone!  :icon_biggrin:

Very evocative! Thank you for sharing them with us.
"Anyone who attempts to play the 'real transsexual' card should be summarily dismissed, as they are merely engaging in name calling rather than serious debate."

Wow, nice.

Did you use a model or did you draw just from your mind? Those are very beatiful.

Absolutely inspirational. You have an amazing vision. And in coloured pencil?? :)

Thank you! The first one at the earliest stages of conception was sort of a partial attempt at including an element of self portraiture, which deviated pretty heavily really quickly! lol! The second is drawn just from mind! :)

Thank you for your kind words! And yes! I just wish I had better control over the medium!

Better control? I'll admit crunched photos may obscure details, but it looks as though you have about as much control as one can have over coloured pencil. I personally have as much control as an 8-year-old with Tarrett's syndrome. x)

Your shading is wonderfully done, subtle and smooth but effective. Maybe that's why I admire it so much, my own style is very rough and sketchy.

Your work seems fairly spiritual; I love the expression of the third eye the most. In your DNA one you make it seem metaphysical - as though it's a part of the Goddess' anatomy. I also like how it seems as though she has no breasts - I don't know if that was intentional but it seems like she has the masculine chest of a man. If that's not trans-related, I don't know what is :P

Hi PiperEden, I don't know anything about drawing, but those are really nice! Thanks for sharing them, and I know why you don't post, you're busy! Hugs, Tracey

Thank you for your words! I guess I'm hard on myself, I'm not where I would like to be with my art! :)

And yes, I think I did that half consciously, I wanted to present the "deity" as androgynous because of the idea that DNA is a substance, that forms from the combination of the combining of the nucleotides.  Maybe it makes more sense in my head! haha!
