packer dusting -- any alternatives to cornstarch?

I just got my first packer (mr. limpy, how do you do) a while back, and I've heard you have to dust it with cornstarch. There's none around the house, and I can't ask my mom to get some for me (even if *I* pay for it) because she will endlessly bug me on what it's for; I'm not very good with lying. "I'm using it to prolong the lifespan of my rubber penis that you're not supposed to know about," is just. no. XD

I've been using baby powder, but I've heard you're not supposed to? I've also heard baking powder works. (Or maybe it's baking soda. I always mix those up.)

On a side note: I wear my packer in the shower, is there any problem with shampoo/body wash/etc getting on it?

check out your baby powder some of it is corn starch - not all baby powder is made the same but some are made from corn starch -- I don't have a packer yet so I don't know much about helping you there

The ingredients just say talc and fragrance. (No idea what either are, really.)
So I'm not sure if it has any cornstarch in it. @_@;;

Nope then it doesn't have corn starch ... it will say corn starch

Talc is better known as 'talcum powder'.  It's a mineral made from a particular type of stone that can be crushed very finely...I think.

Fragrance...uh...probably a chemical.

I've heard good things about using Gold Bond Medicated powder, but you might want to double-check your packer's manufacturer for details.  They probably have a website with more information.

I wouldn't recommend using it.  Do you have no other way for obtaining corn starch?  Such as asking a friend to buy it for you or getting a ride (from someone other than your mom) to a local store or market.  Or, if you cook at all, just say you found a recipe online that called for corn starch. 

I personally wouldn't use a medicated powder on sensitive areas.  That stuff burns like crazy.

i agree with the ovarian cancer if it long term, also yeah ask one of ur friend or so, i brought mine the other day and it isnt very big

I could probably walk to the nearest grocery store myself -- the only thing that worries me about that is I'd have to go across a highway, which frightens me a little, hahaa. (I was saving it as a last resort.)

It probably is.  I just can't in good conscious recommend it to someone.  Do you have potato starch by any chance?  I saw that on a few blogs recently.

there's also potato starch, which is "basically" the same as corns starch, but made from potatoes and can be a lot cheaper in some places.

Shower-to-Shower powder.  And they do make one with a more masculine scent.  Most baby powder today is cornstartch, not talc.  They took the talc out when they realized that it can contribute to issues with girl parts (cancer? I don't remember).

Tell your mom you read of a cool thing to do with corn starch (add water, makes a cool goo that is solid then liquid, it really is cool and you can show her!).  Then confiscate the rest of the box.

Never heard of potato starch @.@ Shall be looking into this.
