Well more like 1.5.  The first one got the "I identify more as a guy and like male pronouns" explanation for why I'm set as male on facebook, but she texted me with "Hi Miss Kim" the other day.  I need to figure out what to do with that, but anyways...

I went to the FtM group today and was feeling pretty good when a friend messaged me, so I decided to go for it.  Everything went very well, and she ended up with "You're still my Kim" before asking what name I'd change it to.  I told her, and she said that it would take some getting used to before joking about calling me "Kimlee."  Overall she was very supportive and ended up asking questions only on how I planned on bringing it up with my parents and brother (she knows them fairly well).  We then moved on to other more typical topics and made plans for this weekend.  Overall a very comforting success.  :)
Oh I'm a lucky man to count on both hands the ones I love

Wonderful progress!! ;D

Also good to see you're being patient with the name thing, because some people just take longer than others.  All but three of my friends nailed it right away, and for the three who didn't, two of them (a couple) took about two days to get it right, the other took about a month.  Mom and stepdad have been the toughest, as they still slip up about 75% of the time after being out for three months.  They didn't really try too hard until I got the court order for the name change and they saw how real this was.  Now I know they try hard and I love them for it.

The key is to be flexible with others and maintain a sense of humor unless they're being blatantly ignorant. :)

Congrats!  It sounds like they should be supportive.  They'll come around once they see how serious it all is.  And, when they start looking at info about it.  Just that many more with which you can be your whole self.  Very exciting.
