Plain Jane

I was wondering whether anyone can relate to this.

Before I transitioned I was pretty insecure, low self esteem, etc. So one "ability" I subconsciously developed was to be able to disappear in plain sight. Meaning that I might be standing "right there" and people who knew me wouldn't notice me being there. Perhaps you could call it "blending into the background really well".

Of course transitioning is not an easy thing by any stretch of the imagination and not always helpful to your self confidence. I did OK, and over the years I think I have slowly become more confident. Still carrying a lot of "psychological baggage" with me though. Either way, the "disappearing in plain sight" thing is a hard habit to break and I still catch myself sometimes doing it.

Anyone have a similar story?
