Sounds like a fair thing.
Doesn't matter what mask we are wearing God knows what we really look like underneath.   :)

Your statement as given is a bit question begging.  A kitten born and raised in a china closet is not necessarily a tea cup in the sense you can hold it in your hand and drink tea from it.  Your move!!

Wiser now about Post Op reality!!

Natalie,
I was sorta ponderin what to think of your post myself kiddo.
At any rate I'm glad to see you're a Christian.

Like most things, it depends upon how you define it.

If you define it as following the teachings of Jesus, who is called the Christ, then it means, looking after your own soul, while never presuming to judge others. Only God can judge.

But as we all know, many people claim many things in the name of Christianity and almost any other notion.

Perhaps more importantly, how each of us interpertates the simple notion is individual.

Hey, Zenda, at the risk of sounding stupid: What does "Kia Ora" mean?

Natalie,
A lot of us were brought up Christian, but it doesn't mean that you are one because of that.  I maintained my Christian beliefs since my childhood because I wanted to.  Christ got me through my childhood, service in the Navy, all of those depression spells, and He is with me now.  I often question my faith, but that only strenghtens it.  You need to look inside more and start questioning your status with God.  You'll find that what God says and what the religious people says may not be the same.  Try going to another church other than the sect you grew up with.

Loosely paraphrased the Bible said they were first called Christians in Antioch.
The problem today is that so many call themselves Christian and aren't called Christian by others.
Just my opinion but I think that many including myself should try to live a life whereby others call us Christian in a good sense.
It's a shame when they call themselves Christian and are called cults, hypocrites, judgmental, crazy weird and such by others.
The David Koresh, Jim Jones, Benny Hinn, Joyce Meyer, types have smeared the name of Christ and given opportunity for the unbelieving to mock God. The innocent blood of all who might have believed had it not been for their antics will be required at the judgment seat of God.
Mainstream Christianity pretty much make me want to puke.

Hey Del.  Most of the people you mentioned, I agree.  They give christianity a bad name.  Just wondering what you have against Joyce Myer?  Other than her asking for money, I find 95% of her teachings to be on the mark.  There are times she takes verses out of context, but, for the most part, it seems like she is trying to reach the lost in a language they will understand.  Yea, she puts on a big show...All the glitz etc., but with young people today, that's what will get their attention.  Enlighten me.

mowdan6,

Joyce Meyer may reach younger people and the appearance of her messages may be pretty much true but you have to watch folk like her.

The things that give the heads up warning to me are her lifestyle for one.

She has accumulated a lot of wealth (to each their own) but ministers are supposed to live modest lives. In Acts it is written that the saints had all things common. Even Paul worked making tents for a living. He is recorded as saying that he did not use his freedom from working.

The word says God is no respecter of persons. Therefore, he wouldn't allow one chick to amass millions while other preachers struggled to pay their bills. That is, unless she is just telling people that which sounds good and caters to their flesh.

I have watched her and the way she twists scripture to tell people that they deserve more money and better lives is a crock.

The word shows us that Jesus said that if any man be his he should take up his cross daily and follow after him. He said that we must be willing to hate our life in this world to keep it to life eternal.

Anyone can love the Lord when all is good and all he allows is good. The same with preachers. It is easy to love one that will tell you what you want to hear but quite another to love one that will tell the truth even if it steps on the hearer's toes. As written rebuke a wise man and he will love you more. There is a way that seemeth right unto a man but the end of that way is death. (spiritually) The way of life is above to the wise that they might depart from hell beneath.

I hope this doesn't anger you since you appear to like her but I personally feel she is leading many to hell with her goody-goody prosperity messages and I love people's souls too much to agree with her.

I live about 30 minutes from her mansion (which a mansion we get should be prepared in heaven for where your riches are your heart is) and down in Sparta about 30 miles south of me one of her bodyguards / security guards killed his wife and kid because a divorce would take half his wealth.

Is that what the prosperity movement teaches? It's o.k. to kill your family for money!

Mrs. Meyer didn't even show up at court. They allowed her highness to video tape her examination and cross-examination. That's pathetic.

If she won't come to a trial over life or death sentence I highly doubt that if any of her followers (which, a true pastor should know every lamb and sheep by name in his flock) got sick or were nigh unto death she would hop a flight and pray for them or console their next of kin in person. She sure will take that money though!

Another thing is the bodyguards and security guards. Seems pretty odd to me that the Apostles who were beaten, stoned and cast into prison time and again had their faith in Christ and not man. Not bodyguards and security guards. It is written cursed is the man that trusteth in man!

How can that which is cursed of God lead people to heaven? How can those cursed of God show the ways of the Lord or preach the word of the very God that has called them cursed for esteeming man above him!

As I said, I really hope that you aren't offended by what I say but I cannot agree with the things I behold of her ministry. To me she may have the innocent blood of many followers and poor preachers on her hands at the judgment seat of Christ. And, since she knows scripture just as well as I and if not more, that means she has no fear of God! And even David said that he that ruleth over man must do so in the fear of God!

I did want to add something to my prior post.

Even though I do not agree with transgender ideas (which I have stated from the beginning ) I have to say the following.

I know that there are transgender preachers on this site. I have had more agreement with some of their posts than Joyce Meyer.

At least the transgender preachers here are struggling to bring forth a the  light of life on this site while battling with innumerable opposition. They at least try. And, if the truth be known I would visit their churches to hear a sermon and fellowship with them before I would ever trust Mrs. Meyer with a message for my ever living soul.

I hope I have not angered anyone with my views. That is not my intent. I really love everyone here. You all are a great bunch of guys and gals.

In Acts it is written that the saints had all things common.  christianity bypasses teaching acts 2 + 4

In Acts it is written that the saints had all things common.  the amish well almost share all things but they own their own properties

In Acts it is written that the saints had all things common. the mennonite kinda more than the amish qs they share with many families

In Acts it is written that the saints had all things common.  the hutterites wayyy more than the other two as they are a sharing people living communally

In Acts it is written that the saints had all things common.  the twelvetribes pretty much totally but at times some shepards go off but that is a personal flaw not a group flaw and they alll live communally too but are only 35 yrs old

In Acts it is written that the saints had all things common.  we as individuals can work together to share what we have knowing we can't take it with us when we go. We can only take the riches of our hearts to the next world

Very true.
I have Amish and Mennonite friends we visit and I love their lifestyles. Simple and relaxed and everyone helps everyone else.
I consider them a blessing.

The amish though only help other amish and rarely help others while the mennonites help all people. The weekend of august 12-13  we have a fundraiser for haiti and its a mennonite thing. However, the mennonites do drive cars while amish don't

The mennonites are some of the most giving people. They share their homes and go on minstries but they are about doing work not just talking God..

The twelvetribes TT help their own but don't seem to help others unless they immediately join the TT as visitors and the hutterites i would assume are the same.. I am trying to reach them now to see if they allow outsiders to join them like the TT

UPDATE: I just found out you have to be born a hutterite to get in to their groups
