http://oiiaustralia.com/13978/new-zealand-intersex-documentary-intersexion/A number of intersex people around the world were interviewed by New Zealand film director Grant Lahood for his documentary Intersexion including a member of OII Australia, Gina Wilson.
Although we are grateful that TV One commissioned this film, we contend that intersex filmmakers are far better qualified at telling the story of intersex and intersex people than non-intersex filmmakers, given the long and dismal history of non-intersex people speaking for and attempting to represent intersex and failing miserably.

http://www.gaynz.com/articles/publish/2/article_10545.phpA Grant Lahood directed documentary which features the story of Mani Mitchell and looks at how intersex people navigate their way through life will screen on TV One in July.
Intersexion points out the little known statistic that one in 2,000 babies is born with genitalia that is so ambiguous no-one can tell if the child is male or female.
"I was shocked to discover just how common intersex conditions are in the world," Lahood says. "Yet it was something I, like a lot of people, assumed was incredibly rare."
