In kindergarten, where she'd occasionally wear a princess outfit from the costume box, Maxime became aware of the separation between girls and boys, and her discomfort with her male body.

"I told my mother my life would have been better if I was born a girl," she says.

"She didn't blame me, but she said, 'Don't tell anybody at school. People are going to pick on you.' That's when I began to realize it wasn't socially acceptable to do those things, and from that point on, I tried as hard as possible to repress my feelings."

Does anyone else feel like we are banging our collective heads against a brick wall sometimes?
How many times do people have to be told things like this.  Wilful ignorance on the part of a large part of the population is getting really boring.

There is the crux of the entire matter, the fact that the ignorance is readily cureable, but is being deliberately put off, as something "elective" (such as SRS is claimed to be) and not life threatening.  Harrumph!! >:(

Wiser now about Post Op reality!!

This bit was good.

QuoteThe teacher said, 'Isn't he just asking for it?' "

Of course 'he' was. Children asking to get beaten up. As a qualified teacher. this one must know.
