Where on earth is this link...?  I've searched everywhere and can't find anything remotely like it.

I was unable to find it as well, Zoe

Just to be clear, this is from an email notification? So the user has to have email notifications turned on in order to see this unsubscribe link?

My turn to be dumb. How do you get replies from S's without an email link? If you are a full member,  you have to have email. That  was my understanding? Otherwise you cannot communicate :-\

It also suggests that there is a team of people at Susan's who know what they are doing, as they send notifications.
Mmmm

But whatever you do, don't reply to them

Ah crazy world

They are talking about the links that are next to your avatar at the top of the page were it says:

Hello Member
Show unread posts since last visit
Show new replies to your posts

Yes, i just use the 'unread posts/new replies' links (saved as bookmarks) to see what's been happening since I last visited. I don't like tidal waves of notifications in my email inbox :).

Hi Sis,
I'll call in a minute.

I get email notifications to my gmail account. They have titles, like Susan's : 'How do I get rid of this pesky account' I click on it and it has a link saying: see quoted topic. I click on that and the info that I pasted from Zoe's reply comes up. If I don't want to see that thread again I click on unsubscribe and it gives me choice of yes or no.
Done.

Obviously there a machinations in place. I haven't done anything special (or maybe I have >:-)) it was like this since I joined. I would hate to keep getting crap from some of the threads I have been in.
I think we need FA or someone to clear this because possibly some of the abuse stuff is coming from people who keep getting "Is a TG, a TS, ACD or a FW" I just turn them off even if I have replied previously, if I don't like the discussion I'm out., so I'm not involved in the argument that I'm not interested in.

Okay, the settings for this are in the User Profile section, here:

where you can choose to have notifications of replies to threads you've posted in - or not :).

As for saving a few clicks, I just click on (for example) the Show new replies to your posts. link, and then bookmark the resulting page (which knows which user you are, since you're already logged in, naturally ;)). Then I can just hit that bookmark in my browser to go straight to that page any time afterwards.

I do accept worship at my feet, toe sucking is OK,

But I'm also ok with just 'Cindy you are the Goddess of the Universe' .
I'm a humble perfection.

I'll have that in writing, but I didn't believe it so I had a Mass written to sing it, Will and Kate are going to lick my shoes as Elton sings.
Damn I do not have time for all of this, I have to save the world.

Cindy girds her loins.

Where have all the girders gone she laments.

That's exactly the one I was talking about... and there's no way to unsubscribe from a post so that it doesn't show up in "Show new replies to your posts" unless you delete everything you did in that thread. :)

From what I understand all that would do is Stop Email notifications.  We had already told them how to do that.

You will still see the thread when you click on "Show unread posts.." or "Show new replies to.."

I turned off the Email notification when I first started, that would be way to many emails for me to handle.

Unless I am totally misunderstanding the whole issue.

yeah this has nothing to do with email notifications...

it's to do with unsubscribing from threads that appear in the "show new replies to your posts" list, posts that you've responded to at some point but no longer want to receive updates about.

There are check boxes to the right for each individual thread it's just a case of implementing an "unsubscribe" option. There are already options for "mark all messages as read", "mark selected read" but that only removes them once, if a new reply is posted in that particular thread then it pops up again. Adding an "unsubscribe" button next to these other two options would be the best solution.

You have lost me?

I do not get indications or information from posts that I have may have posted in, an no longer want to see..

Which is what the poster wanted to know, I think?

So if I no longer want to get capture the avatar do what I said and you will loose it, until you post again in that thread.
