Jennie

Hi everyone, well when I first joined Susan's I did not know what I was going to do, I did not have access to any therapist and I did not think I would ever transition, I even called myself non op.
Now I have had many sessions with a good Doctor and he gave me my letter for HRT, I had the letter for a few months and never did anything with it, I was a bit scared I guess, so I got the courage to go and see my family Doctor and I told him I have GID and he paused for a minut and then said oh okay, and then proceeded to tell me all about it and said there is plenty of options and he was very helpfull, anyway I went to see him again today and I took my blood test and after that I will be given my script for the HRT  ;D
It looks like I will get it some time next week, wow this is exciting, I never thought I would get to this point, I was so happy when I came out of the Doctors office I could not wait to get home to tell my wife.  Now I can't wait to get the perscription filled next week  :icon_biggrin:
Aloha nui loa everyone.

Great news, congratulations.
If you are anything like me, a week from now you'll wonder how on earth you managed without them.

A lot of GP prescribe low dosage of E, enough to make patient happy but not enough to really make any changes at all. Tell your doc you are serious & get something strong enough to make a difference if you really want to change.
Just today talked about this with my therapist.

My Doctor and I did talk about the dose and we bot agreed to start small and work our way up, he is a good Dr and has no problem with helping me, I am very glad for this, when I saw him today he told me he thought the pill would be better than the patch right now and then he asked me what pill I wanted, I told him I had a few ideas but I know I did not want the ethinl estadiol and then we talked about that and the other estrogens as well and teh anti androgens.
I still have a smile ear to ear :)  Aloha.

Hi Jennie,

I joined Susan's Place a couple of weeks ago and I also don't know where I am going with this.  I did get the courage to see a Therapist a few years ago that specialized in GID and found that experience wonderful.  My job took me to another state and since, my transition has been stagnet.  It makes me feel good when I read about some one else doing what I know I need to do but can't.  Good Luck.

Would you mind elaborating on what is a low dosage and what is a gets stuff done dosage? I've always wondered about this. Worries me that I wouldn't know if I've been being jerked around by doctors. Currently I've been on estradiol  and spiro daily since February. Having just recently moved I'm in the process of finding a new doctor, which I think I've found, so this would be a good chance to provoke a change if one is needed.

Whitney, We are not supposed to discuss specific dosages on the forum. If you want to do that you should use PMs. A Mod will come along in a few minutes and change your post.

Jennie, this is great news! I find out today or tomorrow if I get my script written by my nurse. My therapist has already agreed to write the letter for me & consult with my nurse about what she plans to do.
