OK, so I've been on HRT (Estradiol Gel) for 3 months now, and am fairly unimpressed with the results so far.

A colleague at work said that when his wife went for HRT, the specialist said he wouldn't recommend the gel becuase "it doesn't do anything".  So he gave her the patches instead.

My next appointment with my Doctor is coming up on Monday, and I get to choose what method I take, although he doesn't recommend tablets.

Has anyone heard that the gel is less effective than other methods?  Or is this just one man's opinion?

Thanks.

Siobhan.
