There's a Dr. Bradley Bullock and a Dr. Gary Smith.  I've contacted both offices and they both require a therapist's letter.  The staff I talked to in both were really nice.  Hope this helps.

Thanks so much. I'm going to try with Dr. Smith first I've allready send him a letter & I talked with other MTF that are his patients. They said he was nice to work with, easier than Dr. Bullock.

I heard that Bullock requires a year of therapy? Is that true?

Does anyone know how long Dr. Gary Smith requires? Or does he require a set time? I was going to phone the office next week and find out for myself but if any of you has the answer, I would highly appreciate it. I already received billing estimates, so really I just need to find out if he requires a set time for therapy. My therapist agreed to write a letter after my first visit. It's been a few months since then, and I am going to continue seeing her throughout my transition but I haven't been to many sessions and was hoping that wouldn't hinder my chance of getting a scrip.

I'm near the Nashville area as well, but do any of you know doctors in or near Murfreesboro by any chance? I'm an MTSU student with no transportation, so I pretty much have to rely on the Rover, Relax&Ride, and the Metro Bus system to get anywhere.
I'm trying to get a referral from my Primary Care Physician for a therapist and an endocrinologist.

I can ask around for ya, and see if I can't find any myself, because I'm in the same situation. It sucks having limited resources. I'm a student at TTU (in Cookeville TN) and I have no vehicle, so I'm having to rely on friends who understand what I'm going through to take me all the way to Nashville.

I may be able to get my friend to take me there. He's usually cool about driving somewhat shorter distances on a whim, and out of state if he's offered money. But I know he's not very comfortable with me going on hormones (says he had a friend that did and became a dick afterwards). So I don't know...

That's not necessarily Testosterone's fault though lol. I mean it can make you a bit more aggressive but from most individuals there's little personality difference after Testosterone. He'll probably help ya out though if he likes driving and he knows it's something you wanna do.

But to the OP, do you know how long Dr. Smith requires his patients to be on therapy for? If it's a few months, then it's not a big deal, but it would HIGHLY - for lack of a better word - suck if I had to wait 9 more months to even start Testosterone.

I'm aware that it's not the testosterone's fault. But it's just, getting him to understand that. He's just kind of got that bad impression stuck in his head.
But I figure I'll ask him anyway. It can't really hurt.

I don't think I'll ever ask permission for anything at all.  Why would I ? To get a no from somebody ? ......... JUST DO IT ! ...........

I don't like ( medical ) doctors because they are not focused on health at all, they are the slaves of the pharmaceutical industry which is focused on one thing only.  My point is, if you really want HRT, I can think about many ways to get it.  And if you don't trust it, get your blood tested anyhow.  Curcuma can get your blood more fluid taking away some of the risk.

I used to have astma.  It's gone.  You think my doctor did it ? All he ever did was trying to make me dependent on his things that don't work.  I did it myself and with success.
