Hysterectomies, and selling 'eggs'?

Ok, well I wanted to discuss two things here.

First, I learned from my therapist that there is a doctor near me that can get transguys's hysterectomies covered by insurance, which is awesome. Has anyone else gotten this done? Does anyone know if this surgery would totally take all the stuff out from in there, like ovaries, uterus, all that stuff? (probably can't tell since i don't know the exact type, but worth a try)

Second, this is something my mom got me thinking about. I've seen 'ads' of sorts about selling your 'eggs'  for a good amount of money, as in thousands..enough to cover my top surgery and then some. Also, every additional time you sell them you get even more money. Anyone know much about this? Do they have to, well, 'go in' through the actual privates to get them? Also, a friend reminded me about this. Would I even be able to do this since i'm on T? I've been on T a little under 2 months. I'm still getting 'the red death' (though it was two weeks early this time. should be getting it now, but got it two weeks ago instead)

Just a thought I guess. Glad I can get a break on one part of surgery. Also, interested that there might be one possible tiny tiny glimmer of hope for surgery funds.

thanks

i don't know about donating eggs by means of a hyserectomy-oosowhatever operation, but i do know that the normal process requires the donor to take enormous amounts of female hormones for weeks before hand.

oh jeez, that sounds terrible. guess that route's out, like i suspected.
Why would they need you to take the hormones tho? to produce more?

1) By definition, a hysterectomy refers to the removal of the uterus. The ovaries and fallopian tubes have nothing to be connected to without the uterus, so there's no point in leaving them there (which no surgeon would do, anyway, with that procedure). Sometimes they remove the cervix during a hysterectomy; sometimes they don't.

2) In order to sell your eggs, you have to go on a hormone regimen involving estrogen and progesterone. This is if you're biologically female and NOT on any hormones to begin with. There is no way they'd let you sell yours while on T; if they did at all, knowing that you'd been on T, you'd have to go off it and go on the female hormone regimen. This is necessary for the eggs to be capable of being extracted. As per extraction, as I understand it, they take the eggs via a needle that goes through your abdomen and into your ovary. There's really no conceivable manner, anyway, of taking them through the genitals.

it sounds like it would actually be devastating to go through as a male and also for most women. think of the time when the ovaries release an egg each month- that's PMS. then think of this happening continually for weeks on end. then multiply that by several times, because you're preparing your body to release so many eggs. basically, the process would be like the month long PMS from hell on steroids....
