So I'm working on a letter to come out to my grandfather. I want to do this, because since we've both moved to different parts of Texas (me to Austin when my mom died, him to Dallas when my grandmother died to live with my aunt and uncle) we've gotten a lot closer. Plus, when I go up to Dallas to see all of them, I don't want to shock or confuse him. I think I'm going to be able to start T sooner than I expected, so there's that too.

My question is, what advice would y'all have in coming out to a grandparent? He's 86 years old, tech savvy, and still has all his marbles. He's really smart, and fairly liberal. I don't think it'll be a problem, but I'm still nervous. I told him I had a girlfriend and that we were moving in together, and he took it well before. So he's cool with seeing me as a lesbian. I just don't know how he'll react to suddenly having a grandson where he used to have a granddaughter. Thanks. =)
so don't think twice, you'll end up worse than you've been
