I am mtf and I have never even had a manni never mind a full body wax, but I want to get waxed so darn bad. I have panic attacks when I go places that I feel really uncomfortable at. anyone go through this? have any advice? anyone have any advice so I don't seem like a total bozo when I go in? I am very scared of looking stupid or having a tech who is trans-ignorant. Please help me get over this ridiculous fear!

I'd say don't feel embarrased about it, they probably do gay guy's nether regions anyway, as well as girl's Brazilians, so will have seen everything!
I had facial laser and the tech was really welcoming and supportive about my transness(such a word?).
If you don't feel comfortable you can always go elsewhere anyway.

Hi

Never had a problem. Have walked in from the street in boy clothes to get my eyebrows done. Great she asked questions but friendly one. I was the first 'TG' she had met I now getting waxing from her. I was lasered by another place and they had no problems at all, I was  also the first 'TG' they had met.

These people are very use to very personal, contact. How many GG woman are nervous about going in for a full Brazilian? They are helpful, understanding - and running a business. Money talks.  Talk openly to them.  I got so much advice. For example:  Go to blah for deep vein laser to remove those scars. I would really like to do a medicure/pedicure etc.  I'm running a make up session on a one to one basis for young woman, do you want to book one?

Confidence girl. Just walk in and do it. And tell them you are nervous. They start to relate female to female very quickly, like instantly. Do get ready for interesting conversations. Are you going to get Surgery "Yes" . 'OK,  I've never known how guys walk around with all that stuff, what do they do with it all day?'  :embarrassed: :embarrassed: :embarrassed:

Butting in for a weird-sounding question.

Are there areas that are not waxable?

Since they will do XXX brazilians I don't think so. Laser is permanent though. I had my back waxed as I couldn't shave it to get lasered. You need to be clean shaved for laser. I was thinking of getting my testicles waxed in the hope they would be pulled off ::)

I was told that they can't wax the beard/neck area. Then some TG friends said lasering is great for that area. Have had 2 treatments so far, the whiskers are noticeably less numerous, I can go for a whole day and barely have 5 o'clock shadow!

Everything else can be waxed.

There have been a few classic videos of waxing the face and beard. One was posted here a while back. Looked damn painful.

I have had awesome success with laser . It, for me, was worth every penny. But make sure you go to a place that uses the high power lasers. Many beauticians/ hair stylists have low power lasers that are OK for sparse hair but don't do much to thick hair.
The place I went to was designed to look after woman with medical conditions that resulted in excessive hair growth. It was owned by an endocrinologist and staffed by registered nurses.

They were (and are) great. I don't feel like a 'client' I feel like a woman whose is being helped with her problems. Not sure if that makes sense.

So how did you go?

I'm not sure what you want to know and who you are talking to. If you are referring to going for hair removal as a guy, it's not that impossible, really. For the face,
you can just say you're tired of shaving. For the rest, if you really feel you need an excuse, try saying your wife/girlfriend insisted.

The local hair salon a few blocks from my home recently hung a banner outside that said "Waxing - Men and Women - Call XXXXX at 999-555-1212".   I called and spoke to the lady, asked about getting a full Brazilian (absolutely everything) and also the "south pole" (nether regions, between the buttocks).  She said so long as I was completely serious and not simply looking for a thrill, it would be no problem.  I explained first that I wasn't so hairy, having had full-body laser epilation some years prior.  Also that I was tired of the discomfort and unclean feeling the hair was causing.  I visited her two days later, and thoroughly enjoyed and appreciated the entire process.  This lady was professional, very skilled, and did not cause the least bit of discomfort.  Not even when waxing my scrotum and the base of my penis.  ::)

Which reminds me, I need to schedule another visit, now that my incision is completely healed.  ;D
