Like I said before have a Baptist back ground.
One of the biggest things they preached on was the KJV 1611 being the presrved word of God. One of the wornings was "beware of the scribs". I found it to have changed over time. I bought older copies to conpair them. Changes had been made. I tried to tell them but they would not hear it.

The one thing that I think is great about it is its old english. The reason being the plurel and singulers play a big role in meanig.
For exsample, thou and you also thee and ye.
Thou and thee are singuler in form. You and ye are plural in form.
Because you is used in modern english as refering to one person it is easy to missunderstand a lot of verses. The word your is also plural in meaning.

One verse was used to condem smoking because they thought it was talking about the phisical body based on the way it sounded thus blinding the true meaning of the verse. The fallow verse is the one that was used.
"Know ye (plural) not that your (plural) body (singuler) is the temple of the Holy Ghost. Who's temple ye (plural) are. If any man (a part from the the temple) defile the temple him shall god distroy."
It took a long time for me to see this and many other verse are hid from our understanding the same way. The teaching that smoking is a sin and missusing the verse is what defiles the temple. The person preaching the lie is the difiler of the temple that will be distroy.

When I was a children's Pastor, I ran into this phenomenon a few times in a specific church. I later found out that some other churches were the same way in saying the King James Version is the inspired version and no other is.

In regards to scholastic and intelligence, I never could understand why and how people think this way.  There were at least 7 other translations before the King James Version was written.

Furthermore, the KJV is never used in scholastic circles when doing exegetical work (translations and meanings of scripture) simply because there are so many errors in the King James Version. For example, one of the translators was a William Shakespeare fan and he hidden his name in the book of Psalms (Specifically Psalm 46 was an attribute for William Shakespeare's Birthday by adding his last name in the passage by splitting it up. In the ancient hebrew there was not a "Shake" or a "Speare" in this original passage.

Also, the KJV incorrectly used the word Jehovah. There is no Jehovah in the old testamanet in the original language. The names for God in the Hebrew was Elohem, El, Ywh, and Adonai.  Jehovah is a hosh posh of german combination of Adonai and YWH so they took it on their own account to go outside the scripture and create a new word.

Also, many translations are incorrect int he KJV.
But some people are so attached to the KJV that they think the Almighty God himself written it (and some really believe that God literally wrote it...not inspired it....but sat down and wrote it)

The used verses to back it up that are talking about Christ blinding people to the living word.
"Born again by the incoruptible seed which is the word of god" leading people to believe that is talking about the written word and not about the living word which is Christ.
"The sword of the spirit which is the word of god"
Leading people to quoet it again others as weapon against them.
