Trachea Shave

So I finally have the money to be able to get a trachea shave. I have been researching on doctors that can do the operation the most effectively but safely. These doctors are my top choices and I want to know you gals opinions on them or if you have any other referrals.

Dr. SPiegel @ Boston, MA cost: $unknown
Dr. "i forgot" lol @ montreal CA cost: $4000 (hes famous but i forgot his name)

PLS PLS PLS I need you ladies' help on this! I have a pretty prominent adams apple and thank God only the prominence is sticking out, not the whole larynx.

In Montréal, I think the name you're looking for is Pierre Brassard. His website: http://www.grsmontreal.com ~ He apparently works with Maud Bélanger at the clinic. I don't know; she's either his student or she handles "non-SRS" surgeries. You can email them for information.

As for advice, I can't really give you any. I know Dr Brassard is one of the most regarded surgeon for SRS, but I'm clueless otherwise.

If possible, I would recommend choosing a doctor that puts the scar somewhere other than right on top of the adam's apple.  Unless he has changed his technique, I'm pretty sure Dr. Spiegel does that so I would rule him out.  I'm not sure about the other two.

I had mine done with Dr. O in San Francisco, but only because I was having the rest of my face done at the same time.  The scar is under the chin.

Yes... for now at least.  I've been told it fades a lot, but will always be visible.  Right now I'm only 2 months post-op and it's still red.  Here's a very unflattering picture:

Another thing to complicate your surgeon choice is a question of how aggressively they attack the Adam's apple.
Some surgeons will try to grind out every little speck of it at a greater risk of affecting the voice.
Others are quite conservative and will just grind out most of it.

Age is also a variable.
Younger patients only need a scalpel, older ones a "rongeur" which is a fancy name for hand nippers.

I don't think the Adam's apple's size is directly related to the voice at all in terms of voice height and cartillage volume.
