I've always been told that universities are liberal or conservative and that you'll be with or against the flow. I want to know why I can't stay dry on the bank. The most recent topic has been transgender persons and their treatment. People want to know if I am opposed to transgenders. I am neither for or against them. I am not transgender; I have no transgender friends. My opinion extends as far as: Transgenders should not be mistreated for being transgender. That's all. If someone is convinced that they were born into the wrong physical body and they have the need and wherewithall to change their physical form, that is their prerogative. I have no say in the matter.

The only time lately that I have had any opinion relating to transgenders has been based on bathrooms. The UA is discussing (and to an extent implementing) gender-neutral bathrooms. Most people have seen one before; they usually say "Family" on the door.

I would think a great number of universities (especially ones not in locales that lean heavily one way or another) tend to be pretty neutral, especially when the universities cater to night students.  I'm using to assume "UA" stands for University of Auburn or University of Alabama, so it's not any real surprise there's a political lean among the students.

That's my initial reaction, anyway.
