I have always read about meditating on God's word, but never understood the concept.  Guess I always have thought meditation was sitting quietly and waiting for God to speak.  Well, I had the concept of meditating on God's word explained to me today, and wanted to share.
To meditate on God's word is .....in the times when fear, anxiety. strife. etc., appear  If at those times, you turn your attention to Bible verses that fit the situation....verses like.....God has not given us the spirit of fear, but of power, and love and of a sound mind.  etc.  That is meditating on God's word.  There are times at work, that I find myself singing one of the old hymns in my head.....that is meditating on God's word.
This was just such a revelation for me, that I felt compelled to share it.

Thank you for sharing Mowdan6. That's exactly what meditating is. It's wonderful when we focus on God and his word.                                                                                                        Gennee
