Hey guys, I was wondering if any of you had experience with the 3rd Gen. Velcro short binder from Love Boat: http://www.lesloveboat.com/shop/product_info.php?cPath=77_73&products_id=188

I currently have a sports pullover binder from the same place and am looking into a second binder in black, and I was interested in trying out the Velcro binders also. On a lot of models I noticed that the Velcro part seems to stick out from the side, which I wouldn't care too much for, but on this model the Velcro seems to not stick out at all. And it says it is "silent Velcro" which also seems like a plus.

Also I was wondering if this binder would hold up to athletic activities such as working out/etc. Like does everything stay in place and the Velcro not come undone. And comfort level, things of that sort.

For reference, my chest measures to be 34" at its widest and 30" around the ribcage, so I'd probably end up buying a size medium.

Another binder that is similar to this that I see is the high strength Velcro short binder: http://www.lesloveboat.com/shop/product_info.php?cPath=78_80&products_id=98
It is $10 cheaper, which I guess is because it does not have silent Velcro? Or perhaps something else... Only downside is the neckline isn't as low so it wouldn't be as well hidden under clothes.

If you have any experience or advice with either of these binders I'd be glad to hear it! Thanks!

i own the 3rd gen velcro short binder, the sports pullover binder and the high performance velcro short binder. the velcro does not come undone during activity. however, the 3rd gen. doesn't bind any better than the sports pullover, on the contrary- for me it's no more effective than a sports bra. so out of all the love boat binders i have owned i like the high performance one best because the material is thin and light and still it's the one that gives me the best results.
The 3rd gen. in my opinion isn't worth the money and i kinda doubt the v-neck is any better.....because honestly i haven't owned a single double binder that did a decent job (or a job that would match the ratings love boat gives them).
Oh, except for the cheaper sports bandage one! That one is actually quite good but the material is rather coarse.

So would you say it'd be a smart idea to stick with the sports pullover model, then? Seems like paying more for the double brand wouldn't be worth it.

Another one I see that seems to be popular is the 2nd Gen. Jersey Mesh: http://www.lesloveboat.com/shop/product_info.php?cPath=57&products_id=254
I wonder if this would be any better?

I have the 2nd. gen jersey mesh. It's the only binder I have from LLB, but I've also had the tri top and double front from Underworks. The jersey mesh is made of like a thick cotton, so it doesn't stretch at all. The straps/neck line are really close to my neck and thus show under some of my shirts. It doesn't show any lines under shirts though like Underworks binders, which is a plus. It will probably bind you pretty well since you don't sound big at all to start with. I think my chest is like a 36 over the widest part, and all of my binders get me flat enough to pass well. The velcro is loud to undo, so if that's a concern, I'd get one with the silent velcro. I also kind of feel like it's not long enough, that my chest kind of comes out the bottom. I have a B size chest so I'm not super big to start with. But overall, it's not a bad little binder. I use it for when I go swimming or if I don't feel like wrestling my tri top on. I had pics on another thread if you're interested, I think it was the binder comparison thread. Hope this helped a little.  :)

yeah i used to own the 2nd gen. jersey mesh as well (sold off most of my binders since top surgery is coming up soon, though), and it does a much better job than the double one. i'd say the jersey mesh and the high performance from juya are about equal when it comes to flatness but the high performance one is more comfortable (but also more expensive). Both make me appear a lot flatter than the sports pullover binder (even though i liked that one a lot as well for comfort reasons).

Thank you for the information on the jersey mesh binder, Konnor! Slowly I am narrowing down to my final decision, heh.

That high performance one from Juya looks pretty cool, just checked it out. I liked the material on my sports pullover from them so it might be wise to stick with that brand. Seems like I'd have a happy medium best-of-both-worlds thing if I went with that one since it'd get me flatter but also be relatively comfortable. Should i be safe in getting the same size on the high performance as with the sports pullover since it's the same brand, or does the sizing run different at all? And the Velcro is pretty secure with activity also?

The high strength rocks.  It's very forgiving and you can definately work out in it.  It's not silent velcro but unless you plan on adjusting it while wearing, it's not a problem.  It will be loud if you undress and shower at the gym, but otherwise it's not a problem.  The 2nd gen mesh isn't nearly as forgiving; I can't work out in mine.  Enjoy :)

i think you should be fine with the same size. i was a small in both. the velcro is very secure, it actually never happened to me with any velcro binder that the velcro came undone.  i agree with doberman that i would choose the high performance over the jersey mesh when working out.

Ohh, good thing you guys mentioned about not being able to work out so well in the jersey mesh! That would kinda put a dent in things. And I'm glad to hear that the Velcro hasn't come off for any of you, that was my biggest concern with buying it the first time. Sounds from it being put on and taken off aren't of too much concern to me, so that's okay too.

Thank you very much for your input guys, it was really helpful! :)

I have this one. I have a love hate relationship with it. For one, I think I really needed the medium - not because of moob size, but overall size. When I started working out more I noticed it more. When I put the thing on I can't have the velcro attached all the way - I have to kind of work it so that it's half so I can still feel like I can breathe. The veclro if not fully attached is scratchy which is really annoying.

Eventually I think I'm going to go with the one with the zip up front and get it in medium instead.

I have a question, how do you know the sizes?
I believe that this is a harder way to pick a size (On Love boat) :/

This.

According to size chart B I'm a 5XL. That doesn't seem right....

Yeah that's what I thought xD
It says that I'm a XL or 2XL
But on NABAY (Another Japanese site) I was a M
So...I'm very confused..

I think the sizes are a bit wonky. I can fit in smalls from Underworks (probably going to buy mediums now though), and I got a large from LLB that fits. I'm 5'5, about 165 lbs. My advice is to email them to ask what they recommend if you're interested in buying from them, or try to find someone your size that has ordered and posted a review.
