Omaha City Council member Ben Gray is making plans to revive a controversial proposal to ban discrimination against homosexual and transgender people in the city.

Gray said Thursday that it's time for another discussion of the issue, although he has set no timeline for reintroducing the ordinance. It will be in the "very near future," he said.

Gray could have more ammunition for his push because of a newly released poll that found strong support among Omahans for protecting gays, lesbians and bisexual and transgender people from discrimination.
