Yes.  However, I do not use those sources.  I learned about the concept from the Ramtha material, which is still the understanding I use for LoA

I have not heard of Ramtha. I will have to check it out. I am always looking for new ways of understanding the Law of Attraction.

It's good to see that I am not alone here.  ;D

Thanks VeryGnawty!

The only hicks I listen to is Bill Hicks.

I've noticed a certain anti-intellectualism going around this country; since about 1980, coincidentally enough. ... I was in Nashville, Tennessee, and after the show I went to a Waffle House. I'm not proud of it, but I was hungry. And I'm sitting there eating and reading a book. I don't know anybody, I'm alone, so I'm reading a book. The waitress comes over to me like, [gum smacking] "What'chu readin' for?" I had never been asked that. Not "What am I reading?", but "What am I reading for?" Goddangit, you stumped me. Hmm, why do I read? I suppose I read for a lot of reasons, one of the main ones being so I don't end up being a ->-bleeped-<-ing waffle waitress.
FIGHT APATHY!, or don't...

Ramtha is the "entity" channeled by a lady who calls herself JZ Knight.  I recommend starting with Ramtha's self-titled book (the white book)

I have one of those books. I mean the Abraham and the Ester and ? Hicks.    Speaking as a European they strike me as being very materialistic, it is very typical of Americans to view spirituality in material terms.   Still the book I have tells the reader how to move out of negative moods in a methodical manner.   So for that alone it was worth the £9.99( $19.00) I paid for it.

I tried looking up to see what "Seth, Abraham (hicks)" means. Could you explain it to me in words that I can understand?

@Princess you are correct that Abraham's teaching is very material driven, but I believe that is because people use material gain to try and "prove to themselves" these concepts work. If you watch the videos too you find that many people ask about manifesting more money as the primary focus. I do love that they give specific exercises you can do to move through emotions until you get to a better feeling place.

@Lisbeth
SETH is a channeled entity through Jane Roberts (starting in 1963) that teaches about the soul and how we create our own reality with our habitual thoughts. (Law of Attraction)

Abraham is similar, but is a collection of entities channeled through Esther Hicks (and documented by Jerry Hicks her husband). Abraham teaches we come from source energy (collective consciousness) and come to the physical world to be "on the leading edge of thought". (started in the 80's)

Law of Attraction = Like attracts like
meaning positive thoughts bring positive experience and negative thoughts bring negative experience.

SETH gets into minutiae of how thoughts form our reality and Abraham's focus is more on how to get "into the vortex" (getting "connected" to source energy in order to more consciously co-create our reality). I find both to be very good sources of information although I do enjoy Abraham's  style slightly more. They are both very loving and humorous.

I have explained both in VERY broad terms but I will sum up what I have taken away from their teachings.

We are spiritual beings in physical bodies NOT physical beings with a spirit.
We are the creators of our own realities by way of our thoughts/focus.
We are responsible for everything that goes right/wrong in our own lives.
We are connected to everything on a very deep level (people/animals/plants/earth/water/etc..).
We are here to be happy by fulfilling our wants, dreams, and desires.

I believe in personal responsibility and empowerment and many religions today seem to disempower people. I refuse to be a victim and so I carry on. The teachings given by SETH and Abraham cross religious boundaries and in my opinion validates all religions by virtue of people's beliefs.
