Life has been kinda bumpy lately. Having back surgery in Dec used up all my vacation and sick time. It's going to take a couple years to save that back up. I have to see a lawyer next week because my ex spouse is refusing to pay her share of the taxes on what I'm paying her.    We don't have a written agreement for alimony. I don't know why she's being so stubborn about it. She's going to get the short end of the stick if we have to go to court because she didn't ask for alimony at the time of the divorce (3 years ago and separated for 6 more before that). I think she hates me now. I can't imagine what she'll be like later. I'm still willing to pay her half my military retirement and she can keep the house but I need her to buy me out.

Am I asking too much? 

Depending on how it goes, I may actually be calling to schedule SRS soon. Not as soon as I'd like because I don't have enough sick time. But compared to the waiting so far '09 doesn't seem too far off!   

ok I'm done rambling for a while. Goddess, my back is sore. How long is post surgical pain supposed to last? At least I don't wet myself every time I sit down.

Karen, I don't see your requests to be anything but generous.  It's not too often things are given voluntarily after a divorce.  But in this society we teach it's the man's duty to take care of the woman, regardless of gender identity.  It's understandable why you are questioning your generosity.

I've always believed that when someone gets something they didn't earn you have to give them more before they appreciate the gift.  In doing so an insatiable monster is created.  Your ex might need to see how things would be if you weren't so generous.  Just a thought.

I think its great you take good care of your kids. Some people just cant help being unreasonable even when they have been delt a fair hand.

I sure wouldn't want the back problems and I hope that all turns out great for you!
