Switching schools soon because me and my parents are moving in with my aunt due to financial reasons.

I have a few questions about going stealth (I'm in high school).

What would I do if the teacher accidentally calls my girl name? Like, what if I have a sub and they don't know to call me by my male name? That would be embarrassing, seeing as nobody ever has my last name and if they called my first girl name and last name, then it would out me. I don't know how I would play that off.

I'm pretty sure I pass, with the exceptions of people who ask if I'm a boy or a girl.

My goal is to go stealth, but what if it goes wrong?

If you're in a situation where you can go stealth, does that mean your parents are accepting?  If your parents are, then maybe they will let you get your name legally  changed?

I don't know what else to tell you.  Maybe if you have a sub, pass him a note right away so he knows to say your name right.

No, my parents just don't care what I do anymore. My mom refuses to let me legally change my name or anything like that until I move out.

I mean, maybe the teacher can write it down on their class list or something or cross out my name? I have no idea. Because for my teachers, I was just going to go to my principal before my first day and get them to email my teachers informing them that I'm trans, prefer a male name and male pronouns, etc.

I agree here. Let the sub know right away and I'm sure the teacher would make a note on the list of your preferred name and the sub would call you by that name.

Hm, that's a tough situation you're in then.  So, are you on T?  (if I may ask)
I'm just surprised, but glad, that you have the option to go stealth especially if your parents are not accepting.

If you feel like going stealth is something that's possible for you (and there won't be any catastrophic events if you are outed, i.e. getting beaten up or the like), than you could probably pull it off pretty well.

On teachers/subs and nicknames; normally teachers will mark on their roster if someone has a nickname they like to be called, and so if a sub is there they'll have that on there. Not guaranteed, but that's generally how it goes. Alternatively, you could register for your new school with your male name, and explain the situation so there are no mix ups.

Hopefully it'll work out for you.  :)
