I've always loved spicy food but after 2 yrs of HRT I found myself a total FIEND for it. I had to have it every day or life just wasn't the same anymore...and the pickles, soy sauce, fish sauce....oh the joys! I was starting to get scared I was going to give myself an ulcer or a heart attack. But after surgery and dropping spiro...I still love it, but don't need it like my life depended on it which is a relief. Anyways, my fav cookbook for awhile has been Curry Cuisine which is a compilation of curry dishes from around the world and most Indian cookbooks are pretty decent and should set you on the path. Thai curry is uber easy if in a hurry...just buy the cat-food-looking can of red, green, panang etc...and add coconut milk and protein/veggies of choice. If you want to really do it right though, you'll want a dedicated coffee grinder for spices only, and a food processor....unless you're mad, in which case you'll need a lot of free time and two stones: a fist sized one and a large flat one 😉
