Do you stand or sit?

When I first went into the men's room there was only one other guy in there so I tried to just stand and lean with my lower body over the toilet and let my feet stand a little way back, well it would have worked if I wasn't nervous about peeing (I couldn't pee) I tried for about 10 minutes and still nothing. I tried sitting and I started to pee but then someone walked into the bathroom and I couldn't pee anymore so I got pissed off and then I walked out. But when I do go into the mens room I sit if their is absolutely no one in there.
Push it baby, push it baby, out of control, I got my gun cocked tight and I'm ready to blow. ;)

I've heard that particles from the toilet can actually travel in a 25 foot diameter (or radius, can't recall) when the toilet is flushed.  So I always close the lid but I can't be assured that others will do the same so I keep my toothbrush in the medicine cabinet.

I'm horrified. And I have no medicine cabinet and a very small bathroom D:

I think I'm going to invest in a new toothbrush.

Sit in public cause it's inconvenient to carry, conceal and clean an STP.
Stand at home without an STP (someone made a thread about this recently) but I have yet to try that in a public bathroom.  :-\

I sit. Adamantly.

1. I hated having to be the one who cleaned up after the standing men in my household, and I refuse to add to the mess.

2. My cisgendered boyfriend always sits, and considers standing to be just as gross and unhygienic as I do, so I don't really get the whole standing=MANMAN thing.

3. I do not care to try and deal with all those STP devices. I just want to be able to take a piss.

I don't know about the toilet flushing, but I heard the splatter range was something like 8 feet when a guy stands up and relieves himself into a toilet bowl.  Found out that little bit during my first trip through college. :o  That might have disgusted me into sitting if it weren't for the fact that I hadn't (and haven't) stood since I was 10.  I just couldn't bring myself to do such a male thing.

However, the day I heard that information about splatter was the day I stopped keeping my bath towels in the bathroom that connected my room with the neighbors'.
