A few days ago I was watching an old movie called Shock treatment. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0058585/

Almost immediately I started to have this crush on 1 of the characters in the movie, A beautiful woman doctor named Dr. Edwina Beighley aka Lauren Bacall.

I can't seem to get this woman out of my head. She reminds me of this other celebrity whom I also have a crush on, who happens to be the chief medical examiner in Orlando Florida. Her name is Dr. Jan Garavaglia (Dr. G)

I know I have a fetish for women doctors. Even my PCP, who is a young woman, turns me on sexually. My heart starts to beat really fast when shes getting ready to examine me, or touches me.

Does anyone else have this?

I don't have it, but I bet its common.

Medical fetishes are pretty common, yeah (otherwise, how would the "sexy nurse" be a "thing"?). Mostly it seems to have something to do with power dynamics, with being vulnerable and submissive (the patient) or powerful and dominant (the doctor). I don't have a medical fetish myself.

Admittingly, when my dentist was working on my teeth I was kinda turned on. >:-)

I used to have an enormous crush on Dr. Kerry Weaver from ER, lol!  Actually, I think I went through most of the female doctors in that show - Dr. Lewis, Dr. Corday - oh, my Goodness.  Dr. Corday.

Lately, rather bizarrely, Dr. House has wheedled his way into my affections...  Perhaps I like Doctors who use canes... ???

It's an interesting thought... Do you think that sometimes perhaps people who long to change their bodies develop fascinations with people who can make that possible?  Though not all Doctors are plastic surgeons, I suppose, lol.  For me, the fascination has always been the implication of vast knowledge in an area that's totally alien to me - I'm completely artsy and entirely unscientific - and massive focus on physicality.  Also, that weird combination of formality and intimacy that's involved in a Doctor's appointment - the fact that they're touching you and examining you in places that only a lover would otherwise touch, but they're doing it in an allegedly completely non-sexual context.  Oh, and the paraphernalia, lol.  Gloves, stethoscopes, tourniquets...

And with Dr. Weaver and Dr. House, they also have their own physical difficulties - their own pain to deal with.  So that adds a whole new dimension to the thing.

Either that, or I just fancy Laura Innes and Hugh Laurie.

Yeah, it's fairly common.  Thankfully, as an RN, I don't have this particular fetish.  But I do have other attractions to certain types of authority figures.

Makes me wonder though about my own patients...Are any of them thinking about me that way?? LOL
