What if MTF's and FTM's could swap bodies?

Hehe, I know it may be silly but it was the first thought on my mind this morning. Sometimes I read threads concering FTM's and all I can think is, I wish I had what they wish they didn't. Maybe one day someone will invent a swapping machine for us.  ;D

I have thought about it before. Like when I see someone who is FtM and they're like "I hate my body," I think "well, I'll take it off your hands."
Despite what my profile pictures show, I am a very smiley and upbeat person. I'm merely the least photogenic person alive, that's all :P

If I changed bodies with a trans woman I don't think I would be happy. I don't exactly enjoy the process of transition, but I believe it to be something important that makes me...well...me.

Nygeel, I know exactly what you mean. But if I were to be swapping with an FTM who had the body I'd love to have, like Jennifer Lopez, I'd do it in a heartbeat. :D Ok, somebody pinch me please so I can wake up, hehe.

I would skip the transitioning in a heart beat if I could just swap with someone.

Kia Ora JenJen,

::) People being people [trans & Cis] are prone to bouts of jealousy, envy, anger, resentment, fussy, picky etc...  Just imagine what would happen if two highly strung[emotional] pre transition M2Fs want the same F2M"s body..All hell would break loose  ;)  ;D

Metta Zenda :)

I was really interested and seriously thinking about this possibility few years back.
But never have enough will to do magic rituals about it  ;D
gird at me, but I still believe it is possible

Kia Ora,

::) But what if a person changes their mind, but the other don't want to swap back...Then what ? :D ;)

It's funny you mention that. I was thinking that exact same thought while I was creating this thread.

That depends on legal rights.  If you swapped bodies and the law recognizes your former body as the property of the person you switched with, you will probably be screwed.  Unless they were really compassionate and were willing to swap back.

I suppose you could also find a different transsexual to swap bodies with.  You wouldn't have your original body back, but at least you would have a body that has the correct sexual equipment.

Swap bodies? Only if I had a nearly identical biologically-male twin who was MtF.

I like my body just well.

I think it'd be awesome, yet kind of creepy too.

Nah, I want my own body to be right. No substitutions, thanks.

By the time this is possible (by stem cells bridging two spinal cords), we'll probably be close to being able to transition biologically, thus sort of making this unnecessary.  My estimate is 20 to 25 years; maybe sooner if you factor in accelerating progress.

If you think that's optimistic, recall that on this day 100 years ago, medical transition wasn't even a concept in anyone's brain.  There are people reading this born before HRT was ever used.  I'm in my twenties and I was born before FFS existed.

According to Kurzweil's Law of Accelerating Returns, we will probably have nanomachines inside the body by that point.  We will also have the human brain interfacing with a computer long before that point.

Biological transition is not a stretch, at all.  I predict less than 20 years before someone comes up with a method to at least phenotypically transition the body (or maybe even genetically transitioning it) without resorting to surgery.  The male is just a mutation of the female, after all.  All you really need to do is induce or reverse the mutation.  Theoretically the body should develop into a fully realized form, including alteration of the genitals and the ability to be fertile.

There's a lot they can do with genetics now.  The only real stumbling block is inducing change in a form which has already grown into an adult.  Altering an already grown body is different from growing one in a lab.  But, seeing as how many changes can be brought on by hormones, it would not be a stretch to imagine that even more significant changes could happen with genetic manipulation.

I agree.

MTFs already have every gene "genetic females" have, including those which produce all female primary and secondary sex characteristics; all we lack is a repeat of a chromosome.  To be "genetically female" it would be as simple as knocking out the Y chromosome (like a Turner syndrome female) then copying the second X chromosome or using one from a family member (your father's if you want to be genetically identical to a cisfemale version of yourself).

In fact this process is possible with existing lab technology and marrow self-transplants, but one may wonder what the point of being "genetically female"  is.  I suppose I would feel a bit better to silence jackasses who hide behind "science" to say we're not entirely female.  Yet I can predict the outcome... they'd just switch to saying I must have ovaries and a uterus, and after that happened they'd say we had to be female at conception or something.  I doubt even using a time machine would change their mind since truth wasn't really their purpose in the first place, only a way to justify hate.  Anyway... that was quite a tangent.  :D

I agree with the person that said if I had a twin out there somewhere LOL

HOWEVER, if I could keep my face and hair then I would switch with an athlete. It'd completely make me skip the gym as well lmao

Just imagine, FTM and MTF identical twins could just pretend to be each other anyway.  No need for legal transition, no need to explain anything to anyone.

They wouldn't be identical if one was born M and the other was born F.  :P
