Hi, I'm new to the LGBT community like the title says lol. I'm a teenager and a recently came out to my mom (I've been bi for 7 months :)) (not my dad because he's a homophobic ->-bleeped-<- :/). But since I came out and I really don't care about what my dad thinks anymore (they're divorcing so I won't be living with him :)) I decided to become more androgynous and gender-bending. I've already been pretty effeminate when I was younger. I used to grow my hair long since I was 8, when I was 7 I was into makeup, when I was 10 I was into fashion. But anyway right now I've been expressing my ideas and views on gender more. I've been buying a lot more clothes that are meant for girls, I've been wearing eyeliner, eyeshadow, and foundation to enhance my appearance and make myself look more feminine, I've acted a lot more feminine, and I'm going to start to grow my hair longer.

Hi Chris, and welcome to Susan's! We're a diverse and friendly bunch here (the head count is over 8000) - get into things as slowly or as quickly as you feel comfortable, I'm sure you'll find plenty of support here. Have fun exploring yourself, there are no rules :D.

And be sure to check out these links for the bobby on the house rules:

Oh, and I'm intrigued by you writing "I've been bi for 7 months :)" - how's that been for you? Do you mean that this is when you first acknowledged bi feelings, or when you first acted on them, or...?

I'm absolutely not asking you to justify anything here, by the way, I'm just curious how it's all been unfolding - I knew I was into men and women as soon as I was old enough to be into anyone at all, but spent a long time trying to dodge this in one way or another (including a few years of trying to be "just gay" ::)). It's good to cut that corner and try to be just yourself, however that is at the time, whether it's shifting or consistent, it doesn't matter. There's so many kinds of person, and one of them is you.

Welcome aboard.
Nothing wrong with liking a bit of variety, as Jack Harkness from Torchwood would , "so many species, so little time!" ;)

Yeah lol it's fine to ask. Honestly I first started questioning my sexuality when I was 11 and went through periods of thinking I was gay, straight, bi-curious, etc. Then seven months ago I finally decided one and for all I was into both guys and girls. But I think I should of included I'm also gender-queer, I go through periods of being gender-fluid which is kind of obvious by saying I'm androgynous and a gender-bender lol.
