Is "Devin" too masculine a name?

From the outside perspective of someone not seeing many English names, neither Devin nor Devon could ever seem like anything else than a male name. Maybe it's different for others actually living in English-speaking areas, but if I see Devin or Devon on a list, it's definitely a "sir".

TBH I've only ever knew male "Devin". I did however know a couple girls named "Devina". I've always kind of like that name personally.

Your name is Margaret! Just as mine is Jenny. You look like a Margaret to me it suits you well and its girly, stick with it! You'll be happeier if you do trust me!  Devin is to masculine for a first name but you can use it as your middle name! Your really cute by the way!

Lindsay/Lindsey, Michelle. Those were great suggestions. Natalie is cute too. But you REALLY should pick something you like, because you have to live with it for the rest of your life.

The way I got my name, is went to my mom and said, "Mom, I turned out to be a girl, what would you have named me?" - and she said Samantha. So that has been my name. I found it a lot easier to settle on the name when I take the option of choosing out of the equation.

I'm starting to really like Maura or Laura. Maura Lundy, Laura Lundy, hmmm... I don't want a middle name. Margaret is sort of old ladyish, mostly because of Ms. Thatcher and the fact that it had a surge in popularity in the early 20th century; thus a lot of elderly Margarets. I think my mom has mentioned hating the name too.

Michelle is nice but it reminds me of "shell", which isn't one of my favorite words. Natalie rhymes with my last name so it doesn't "flow" properly.


Update: I think I'm going to go with Laura!!!!!!!! I've been juggling Laura, Maura, and Margaret for a long while. Just reading "Laura Lundy" is really satisfying to me. I'm going to think hard about this for a week or so before I really commit to it, though.

Devin is my given name. Originally I thought that there were girl Devins, but I only realized recently that "Devon" is the more feminine spelling. Before I realized that Devin is generally the masculine spelling I wanted my name to be "Devin Margaret...", but now I'm thinking about adopting Margaret as my first name and dropping my middle name altogether. Deciding on the name is more difficult than I thought it would be.


So, is Devin too masculine a name? Do I look like a Margaret? Hmmm

I knew a girl named Devin (same spelling) that was very pretty and very feminine. As long as it isn't something too obviously male like Matt or Jason you can pretty much get away with any name. I've also seen girls with more masculine names than Devin :p
