Wondering how big a role if any familial genetics play in breast growth for a TG on HRT....in other words if the TG has sisters or a mother with abundant breasts  will the TG have more success with breast growth herself?

Yup. The general rule is that you are about a cup size smaller than your sisters. ;) I've never met anyone I was related too, but aparently all the members of my family are flat chested anorexic girls.

Thank gawd I'm not a cup size smaller than my sis! She had to have a reduction for medical reasons.

But generally the genetics hold true.  I had only wanted B cups.  DANG! I've got to carry these the rest of my life?  Oops.... I've never talked about this. Don't tell anyone!

Well I know and understand how much TG's want them and it makes me feel bad to say the truth which is I am d to dd and i hate it. My back and neck hurt all the time. I have to bind for sports and guys can't look me in the eye.

Back to topic...I find the genetics of the surrounding aspects of TS as interesting as TS itself. I mean like the hernia poll I started...I will be curious to continue the research on that.

Genetics, age, health, diet, and proper HRT all affect your breast growth....

the younger and healthyer you are when you start HRT the better the results.... if you work out too much and your body fat level is too low you'll have a harder time with overall results... if your on a starvation diet you'll have a harder time with overall results...  So eat right, dont starve yourself, and keep healthybut dont go out to be a bodybuilder or overly cut or anything LoL.
I pray I dont end up in my mothers range... Id have to see a chiropractor once a week for the rest of my life if I did heh  :)

I am a cup size smaller than my mother.  I was bigger than my sister until she packed on a bunch of weight and then lost some of it.  I was told to expect some sort of increase after SRS, even knew someone who gained a whole cup size  after she had her surgery.  I like having a B-cup and C would not be bad but I would not want anything bigger than that.

Wanna tell that to mine?  They could do with a little motivational pep-talk. :-\

There's all sorts of oft-repeated beliefs and memes in discussing our thing about what happens when you do this or that. I'm still waiting for the supposedly-magical '3 years after surgery is when your body changes the most' process... god only knows where I heard that from, but it wasn't here. Funny how jackdaw minds seize upon these nuggets of handed-down wisdom as if they're gospel truth.

I haven't seen my mother for 18 years; I have no idea of her bra size. You're lucky to get what you get, I guess. It's not something I really dwell on.

I have to agree Stormy, I am a firm, wonderful "A" Cup :( if they don't start doing something soon I'll be phoning Dr Brassard to see if he can work some magic.  Oh and my mom is very well endowed.

I never did find out my mother's exact size but it was around DD-F range

I hit an A pretty quickly, buds (about golf ball sized) showed up after about a month and once they did the natural fat around them padded them out to fit an A alright allbeit a bit loosely

I'd say about two weeks ago (5 months into HRT) my 34A's started to get too tight on the boobs, so I bought a 34B which fitted much better, however i havn't been able to buy a replacement set so i've been making do with the old ones even if things are a bit cramped.

This morning I measured up and to my surprise my strict measures say C on the dot but i suspect this is because my my huge shoulderblades and general hourglass shape and pointy boobs adding an inch or so to the overbust measure, they don't look like C's more like large really pointy A's, if the nipples stay where they are and they round out properly I think I would be a large B/small C though.

Overall it's not something i'm obsessive about, I have boobs and that's the main thing, i'd rather stick to an A than have surgery on them to be honest, I really don't like the idea of implants

I apologize in advance   >:D

Although I can also empathize. One of the joys of an FtM guy. Although we do occasionally fit into the "men are pigs" scenario....ok, more than occasionally...we can also empathize on many issues. I was fortunate not to be so endowed, but I have many friends who are or were and it's neither comfortable nor convenient for them.

I wasn't dwelling, I was asking if there is a relation with familial genetics...

Honestly... Did I say or even imply you were dwelling on it?  No. ;D

And what I was saying was: according to the TS grapevine, as unreliable as that can often be, there supposedly is.

I would also add that it might depend on other factors, like what age you regularly start estrogen, possibly what quantities and types of estrogen and other medications you take, and other factors including overall body weight. I could have D-cups if I wanted but being 5' 6" or so, I'd also probably end up weighing 250 pounds.  ;)

To be completely honest: what I do dwell on occasionally is having healthy breasts given the incidence of breast disease on both sides of my family.
