The Liver

I keep reading about HRT and problems with the liver.

I was told by a doctor that specializes in both m2f and f2m that estrogen is not hard on the liver at all. It's testosterone that needs to be monitored closely.

I got my lever pinching on 3 tabs E a day.
Am off now pre SRS, but your docs word in God's ear when I go back on.

Right now my blood pressure is also down, sans E, from 160/98 to 132/82. Be soooo interesting to see if it goes up again when I resume.

Lastly there is E gel and T gel or cream which 'mostly' aught to bypass the liver also.

Estradiol is okay to the liver I guess...

But certain antiandrogens can cause problems in higher doses. Androcur is notorious for that...

The stuff that can be taken sub-lingually doesn't go thru the liver. IDK if there are any T blocks that are administered under the tongue, however. I do know that at least Estrofem is taken sublingually.

  I get my latest blood results tomorrow.  Liver, T level, PSA and hemocrit.  Also my doctor has me on half doses of what I was doing.  He said that I do not need an expensive estrogen level test due to the level of my development he has observed.  He said that I am well ahead, especially boobs, of a M-F half my age.   Both my Estrofem and Provera tabs are sublingual.  The spiro is too awful tasting.

If you have not recently change dosage and have previously had blood test taken of estrogen level on said dosage, then that may be fair enough. However, having the blood test isn't just to make sure you're on a high enough dosage, but also to make sure it's not too high.

If the E level is too high, it will actually slow or stop the development of feminine features, Like my natural T levels before were too high that it actually attenuated the development of my skeletal muscles all of my adult life.  I have gained about 10 lbs of muscle mass since starting HRT, I am stronger than I was 35 years ago!  My Dr. has other TG patients and contributes his time with the local LGBT center.  He can tell that I did have a good dosage before, but he said it is time to lower the dosages now.  I actually got a full night of sleep last night, no head calls!  All dosages in the morning now. 
  BTW: T level is 37, PSA 0.6, Blood count, kidney, liver function all ok!
