Family resemblances?

An old man is sitting on a park bench, when a young man sits down at the other end.  He has brightly dyed multicoloured hair, and the old man just sits and stares at him.

The young guy says, "What, didn't you ever do anything crazy when you were young, just because you could?"

The old man replies, " Sure. When I was in the Navy, I got really drunk one night and had sex with a parrot.  I thought you might be my son."
