My recent outbursts show that I have alot of pent-up anger and I have begun taking it out on people inappropriately. There is no excuse for it. I am a gentle, non-aggressive person and it is out of character. I am embarrassed by it, whats worse I am losing out on friends I could be making.

I apologize to everyone and those particular people I have responded to directly in anger in recent posts.

Hi Valerie

I think you've made also a lot of nice and friendly comments, so, I think they will forgive you.
We all have some bad periods sometimes don't we?
I always appreciate your input and I can't remember an angry post of you.
By the way, you look fabulous in your new avatar.

Hugs

I have never believed  anything  you wrote to be offensive or unkind. If we never talk about things we disagree about, we can't learn and grow.  Thanks for being a part of this site Valerie. It's a better blace with you here!

Hi Valerie.  As everyone has said, I have never seen any of your posts to be offensive or written in anger.  I know the fear of....that possibility...that maybe I did let anger overtake me.  I have been working on being the peaceful warrior.  Having a voice without anger being my first and only response.  In all your posts, I have only seen, that peaceful warrior.

Val, don't worry about it, no offence taken. :)

We all get angry at times and it's perfectly understandable.

My own understanding is that the oppression that many of us have suffered influences our reactions. We simply do not want to be hurt or offended anymore and when we perceive an injustice or slur we all kick off, understandably, in a major way.

The triggers for all of us are different. Racism, transphobia, Islamophobia, misogyny and far right ideology are my triggers.

I agree with Jessica, I've never read anything from you I would find offensive or unkind. I always look forward to your posts as I percieve you to be more level-headed than I am.

We all lose our temper sometimes. I've had missteps here. There is something terribly disconnecting about communicating like this that makes us behave sometimes in ways that are contrary to our nature. But if you look back over your posts, you've done far, far more good than harm.

You're a very kind person, Val. Everyone slips occasionally. :)
