Do you live in the Seattle area?   Would you consider moving there?    According to a local newspaper 1 in 5 workers in Seattle earn a six figure salary.  They are not high powered bureaucrats but ordinary Joes pulling down the big dough working for the city.   Here is the link.

Seattle is a wonderful place to live but the cost of housing and the traffic are horrible. It's a very trans friendly area and very beautiful with a lot of things to do.

I understand it is absolutely beautiful country, as pretty as a postcard. There are more shades of green than Ireland. It is truly an epic sight, majestic mountains capped with snow, sending the spring meltwater down raging rivers and breathtaking cascades. Deep dark forests and abundant wildlife. An absolute classic place of American beauty and spirit.

Seattle can be a bit pricey but it is a really cool place to live. There are a lot of queer resources around town. It's also within two hours of just about every activity you could imagine. Ingersoll Gender Center is a great place to start if you're thinking about coming to town.

I hope to eventually move to that area and have visited 2-3 times in the past.  Kind of tired of Florida's ridiculous heat, humidity, and large number of retired religious people. :P

I spent two years there for college...
All I can say is I second the comment that the cost of housing and traffic are horrible. I stayed in Belltown (downtown) and I just walked wherever I needed to.
I wouldn't mind going back; it became like a second home for me.

The money in Seattle comes from computers (Microsoft and games, and the MIC (Boing)).  It's very well off, well except for the people sleeping the streets and the junkies (if you like heroin, you'll love Seattle - and if you love meth, try Portland, and pot, well, SF).  It's very, very outdoors orientated.
FIGHT APATHY!, or don't...

I would love to visit Seattle some day. I heard that it's a beautiful city and trans friendly.
