Anyone listen to Against Me?

I don't know if this is real, but I thought it was worth sharing. Against Me is one of my favorite bands and I really look up to Tom Gabel and I probably will continue to do so. This doesn't change my opinion on the band (I might even like them more now), but I will admit that I was surprised.

Of course it is real. And it personally doesn't matter to me. A good musician is a good musician no matter what.

It's true. She posted a picture on twitter today. I've seen them play live in like....2005 I think. They're not bad. Happy that she's finally able to transition. The fans seem accepting (as do bandmates) and she's staying with her wife which is awesome.

And I had never heard of the band, just the song 'i was a teenage anarchist', but they sound great. When I saw an article about it in Yahoo! News I was shocked. Super masculine punk front 'guy' transitioning to female, very cool.

Who wouldn't? haha I really admire the power in his voice though and in their music, it really hits me hard when I listen to it and I could probably sit in front of my stereo for hours just enjoying it.

Against Me! has been one of my favorite bands for almost ten years now. I am so proud that Tom was able to come out as the woman she is. Her wife, Heather, is supposedly really supportive also. What is her twitter account? I'd love to follow her.
