After my endocrinology, whom is transgendered herself, told me she would not start me on hormones until three months therapy as stated by WPATH. I went home, looked up the WPATH. To my surprise it listed either three months of therapy OR three months of RLE. I have been living RLE since I turned 17. I informed her of this new found information, and the fact that I only started puberty at 16 and don't want to grow anymore. She understood completely and agreed to do Spiro only until I have seen a therapist. SO HORMONES FOR ME!!! OMGOGMGOMGOMGOGMOGM *Falls out of chair in excitment* In all seriousness I am SO happy to be starting now!

That's awesome!

Now go to a therapist and tell her the same thing you told your doc. Tell her how you been RLE since 17 and more importantly your endo has gotten you on Spiro now.

I would not be shocked if the therapist writes you that letter on the first or second visit. Then you'll be good to go!

Apparently, WPATH SOC's have been revised, now excluding the traditional 3 months of psychotherapy.  Unconfirmed until they release the 7th version.  Apparently was announced at the symposium in georgia this weekend

I literally just finished reading that article, someone posted on here about it! Super excited about that, but for some reason I would still feel better if I got to see a therapist. Thanks for the heads up though, Galena! :)

From what I understood there going to an informed consent rule for HRT. I think its a better idea considering some girls don't have the income for 3 months of therapy just to start out. I also think it will stop a lot of the self medicating which is even a bigger issue.
