@LordKAT: Is being married that bad?

Tried it 3 times and it isn't that bad, it's worse!!  Tekla has it right.

It doesn't seem like marraige works out for that many people any more. But it does have many financial incentives if you can make it work.

1. Finish my transition.
2. Get married and stay with that person the rest of my life.
3. Have a nice home with a garden in the backyard that I can tend to.

What else even matters? If I have those things I will be happy forever.

Other than transition related goals, I'd like to:
-Travel all over the place.  I've been to several parts of China and Australia, so far.  Once I'm out of school and done transitioning this is where most of our disposable income is going.
-Run a marathon.  I've only gone as far as 10 miles before, but I'd really like to finish an entire marathon at some point.
-Learn to cook.  Anything more than my current basic knowledge is an improvement.
-Learn Japanese and Spanish.
-Join a bowling league.  I love bowling, but my schedule doesn't allow for something scheduled like that at the moment.

You know, I'm really too young to have a bucket list, but I haven't yet come up with a name for a less morbid version of that. But that's basically what my bucket list is.

These are in no particular order--I've never written the list down before so I'm just going to write them as they come to me.

1. Travel (my top two countries that I want to visit are Japan and Wales)
2. Skydiving
3. Space/the Moon (if it's possible for civilians to go before I die)
4. Write a fiction novel
5. Transition
6. Get a job as an animator for video games, and be a major contributor (like a director, or something) for at least one game
7. Read 1,000 books (I've read about 200 in my life so far)
8. Go to a 3 Doors Down concert, and meet the band members
9. Go to a Metallica concert
10. Meet my favorite authors (Anne Rice, Andrew Clements, Heather Brewer, J.K. Rowling, etc.)
11. Meet Miyazaki Hayao, Nomura Tetsuya, and Kando Tatsuya
12. Have a library in my house that contains all the books I've ever read + more (with a digital catalog)
13. Have a similar music library of CDs (also with a digital catalog) & a library of movies
14. Go to a masquerade
15. Learn Japanese and Latin, and possibly Welsh, Russian, or French
16. Play all the video games I've ever wanted to play
17. Finish all the anime and tv shows I've ever wanted to see
18. Finish all the manga and books I've ever wanted to read
19. Learn how to draw people that don't look like crap.
20. Learn how to cook "fancy" meals
21. Meet Michael J. Fox and Christopher Lloyd
22. Go to E3 and Tokyo Game Show
23. Learn parkour
24. Learn capoeira or some other martial art
24. Host a real-life rendition of the Reaper's Game from TWEWY

Sorry, that ended up being kinda long for a forum post.  :embarrassed: Anyway, that's part of my less-than-morbid bucket list.

I don't have a list.  I don't know how long my life will be or where it will take me.  I just try to do the best that I can with every day, every week - do my job to the best of my ability, try new things, learn new things, be kind to people, make new things and share them with people, appreciate the people I know and the place where I live, see the humor in everything.  I figure if I can keep that up for the rest of my life, I'll be doing pretty well.

1. Live to be over 500 years old
2. Add more items when I hit 500 years old

You know, this being "the future" and all that, it couldn't be too far off  :)

After SRS,
1. Finish learning fluent French.
2. Live in France for a while.
3. Ride motorcycle to North Cape in Norway to see Northern Lights.
4. And just because I like the sound of it , visit Svalbard. Even if I run the risk of being eaten by a polar bear.

That's all folks.        Karen.

Do yourself a favor.  Don't meet your heroes or idols.
FIGHT APATHY!, or don't...

Dave Warner of the 70's band "Dave Warner from the Suburbs summed that up pretty well in the song "Wimbeldon."

The rest are dead."

If you want to still have heroes and idols.

Personally, I think I'm better off without them.

Don't be so hard on marriage, it's a beautiful thing if done with the right person. After being married for ten years, I long to see her at night.
When it is over, I will still love her, and always miss her.
Why do I say "when"? Because being a geneticist XY=male and I do not think that crack will ever be repaired.
Other than that, it has been incredible and the happiest time of my life, she is my true soul mate.

As for a bucket list.
I had one then I was spiraling down, deeper into a even darker place.
I completed them all, most of witch dealt with a few last gifts to my wife.

My list is now very simple.
Love myself as I am and enjoy the rest of life as who I am.
